Disintergrate Nosing His Way Onto The Stud Scene

It hasn’t taken long for retired star sprinter Disintergrate to make his mark at stud having already produced outstanding young prospect, Nosey Rozy. Trained by Joseph Baldacchino, she is yet to be defeated in her five outings (all BOD) including a blistering 22.31 personal best over the 400m at Maitland last Thursday afternoon.
Her mother Zealous Zoe was a handy performer in her own right, trained by astute trainer Pauline Moran. She racked up 10 wins and 6 minor placings from just 28 starts including 26.26 over the 461m at Hobart and 25.67 over the 452m at Devonport. A very successful sprinter she has no doubt passed that ability onto her offspring, with exciting times ahead for Disintergrates owners Peter Baker, Daniel Ward and Jeremy Roth.
Peter began the journey by forming a syndicate with his close friends and states Disintergrate's career gave them some of the best moments of his life which consisted of 22 wins and 9 minor placings from just 47 starts.
‘When he won at Wentworth Park we all just erupted. Even Paul Ambrosoli could hear us cheering.’
Trained by Charlie Gatt of Catherine Field, Peter has the highest opinion of the experienced trainer for not only what he did for the dog but his knowledge of greyhound racing.
‘He is a terrific trainer, he taught me so much about how to prepare a greyhound and let me handle him in races. It was a real thrill’ said Baker.
Regarded as one of the most versatile performers, Disintergrate won at 8 different tracks including an impressive 3 wins from just 6 starts at Wentworth Park and a personal best of 30.26 (on a wet track). Undoubtedly his most astonishing achievement was when he claimed the track record at Bulli running a sizzling 22.33 over the 400m.
Disintergrate's versatility was certainly confirmed when he clocked a flying 26.13 personal best time after stepping up in distance to the 472m at Bulli. Other notable personal bests included; 20.40 at Appin and 22.37 at Richmond, which was just 1/100th outside the track record.
Despite never cracking that illustrious group win, Peter has plenty of trophies in his cabinet thanks to Disintergrate's efforts at Appin where he saluted in the 2009 Gold Nugget and took out the 2010 Country Challenge final beating a star studded field that included the likes of Magnifique and Pulp. He also took out the 2009 Hobart Gold Cup in grand style clocking 25.97 and was a finalist in the 2009 Group One Hobart Thousand and the 2010 Group Two Bulli Gold Plate.
Now with his stud career starting to gain momentum, Peter is confident there will be more Nosey Rozey’s to hit the ground very soon.
‘I’ve got some Disintergrates which are showing great promise. He was such a strong and determined dog, it’s no surprise his got some good ones coming through…hopefully that will attract more breeders’.
Disintergrate is a son of Collision and With Integrity, with his dam coming from the famous Thai Charm line making her a half-sister to the group one producers such as Bond (Mr Metz, Reign Over Me), Magic Grove (Jedd Lion, Spiral Magic) and Thai Again (Magnifique, Repeated). Bond also went on to become one of the most successful stud dogs in the country, coming from these same bloodlines.
Peter, who is currently in Western Australia working day after day of nightshift, lives for the moment in greyhound racing and wants to ensure that the success he has been blessed with he can pass onto others as well.
‘I’m all about the battlers. His price is fair and I want to see everyone get a chance to use him and tap into some very successful bloodlines. His already thrown one great bitch, let’s hope for many more’.
With his royal bloodlines, it’s only imminent that breeders will be rewarded as they are exposed to both a highly talented race dog and already proven sire for a very reasonable price.
Disintergrate is currently standing at Northern Rivers Stud for only $660.
