Great Thyme Wins Roy Symes Memorial
Written By Kevin Pitstock, Editor & Australian Greyhound Racing Expert Contributor On Monday 19th May 2008
Under wet drizzly conditions coursing was successfully conducted at Benalla, the rain ceased after lunch and we had some very close courses with a few suprises.
Congratulations to all participants and volunteer staff who contibuted. To Gary Brett the slipper a job well done.
Graham Long won the Roy Symes Memorial with Great Thyme who competed very competitively defeating Kialla River first course then Iuki’s Lady followed by Kekeke Katie in the final.
Tyson having his first coursing start performed admirably for Richie Adderely (the Lang Lang Slipper). Lovely to see the family support the dog on this occasion.
Don Jarvis had a most successful day with two individual winners.
It was great to see some newcomers to our sport successful at this meeting, hope you had an enjoyable time and look forward to seeing you next time.
Lionel Kraemer put the polish on his charge Lucky for Leigh who looked the goods in each of his courses, he was most impressive.
