action heads to the Harbour City this week with the running of the Vic Peters Classic at .

Held over the 520 metre trip, the series is open to greyhounds whelped after April 1, 2015, and offers a massive $75,000 to winning connections.

The $2.75 favourite with William Hill for the 2015 edition is the Mark Gatt-trained Kihael Kaluna which recorded the fastest semi-final time last weekend.

Stepping beautifully from box three, the son of and She's The Goodes was able to hold off a fast finishing to score by a nose in a slick 29.69.

Find out what Mark Gatt had to say about Kihael Kaluna's chances.

Zambora Brockie is the second elect at $3.50 and will jump from box eight in the final, while Victorian raider Blazin' Bomber also commands plenty of attention despite being drawn awkwardly in the four and is currently around the $4.40 mark.

The 2015 Group 1 Vis Peters Classic is race eight on the card and is set to jump at 9:50pm AEDT.

Lets check out the form of each finalist, with comments and tips from Australian Racing Greyhound‘s tipster, Brad Bugeja.

2015 Group 1 Vic Peters Classic – 520 metres

Box One – Explosive Madam
Black Bitch – 29.7kg – June 2013
Fabregas x Sheza Surfy
Prize money: $6,080
Trainer: Daniel Flanagan
Career: 13: 4-1-2
T/D: 2: 0-1-0
T/D Best: 30.18

“Ran the race of her life last week and looked the winner for most of the journey, however there was a lot of trouble behind her early in the race so she got left out in front. The final is obviously a much tougher assignment and although she can lead from the red, I can't see her holding off her rivals in the run home. Great effort to qualify but I dont think she can make an impact.”

Box Two – Black's A Marble
Black Dog – 33.1kg – September 2013
Spring Gun – Cathy's Marble
Prize money:$9,103
Trainer: Mervyn Buckley
Career: 11: 5-3-0
T/D: 3: 1-1-0
T/D Best: 30.03

“I had a strong opinion of this chaser coming into the series, however I was left a little disappointed last week when he fell in a hole late in the race. Obviously I still believe he is better than that run but this week he takes on a much stronger field and he is going to need clearly again to have any chance. If he found his best he could cause a boil over but last week's effort was very disappointing.”

Box Three – Kihael Kaluna
Black Dog – 29.9kg – April 2013
Oaks Road x She's The Goodes
Prize money: $19,978
Trainer: Mark Gatt
Career: 7: 4-0-0
T/D: 6: 4-0-0
T/D Best: 29.69

“Exciting talent and he is blessed with blinding early speed, last week he speared to the lead and he was always in control when posting a sizzling 29.69 heat win. If he fires to the early lead again he will definitely take some catching, however I do think the one and two can give him some grief in the early stages, so I'm not completely sold on his chances. Great winning chance but a little under the odds for mine.”

Odds to win the Vic Peters Classic: $2.75 with William Hill

Box Four – Blazin' Bomber
Black Dog – 32.6kg – November 2013
Kinloch Brae x Absolute Stunna
Prize money: $67,563
Trainer:
Career: 18: 12-2-2
T/D: 2: 1-1-0
T/D Best: 30.10

“Ridiculous talent and I don't think we are yet to see his best at Wentworth Park. In both rounds he has turned in two massive performances and he really powered to the line when winning his semi final in 30.10. Clearly the time wasn't there but he did find a heap of trouble in the run and with a clear passage he is easily capable of getting down to the 29.50 mark. With the speed drawn in one, two and three, he appears drawn to get a nice sit and he should prove too strong for his rivals. My top pick and fingers crossed he gets a clear run as it will be interesting to see what he can do on the clock.”

Box Five – Black Bear Lee
Black Dog – 35.5kg – May 2013
x Paua Of Love
Prize money: $59,195
Trainer: Ruth Matic
Career: 21: 11-1-3
T/D: 12: 8-0-2
T/D Best: 29.69

“Continues to impress and he has won eight of his 12 tries over this track and trip. Had he drawn the red, he would have been my top pick, however from the middle pin he is likely to find bother in the initial stages and he is going to need too many things to go his way. Obviously if he pings and runs he is a great winning chance but I just can't see it happening from the awkward draw.”

Box Six – Nangar Flame
Black Dog – 35.2kg – August 2013
Collision x Flash Fancy
Prize money: $10,401
Trainer: Dennis Barnes
Career: 13: 4-6-3
T/D: 5: 0-4-1
T/D Best: 30.05

“Blessed with enormous talent but tends to do a lot of things wrong in his races and he probably needed an inside draw to have any chance. He is likely to miss the start and he will be looking for the rail, if he somehow got a fluke run through and in the top three as they headed for the back straight, he would be more than close enough to score. Capable of matching these chasers but just does too many things wrong.”

Odds to win the Vic Peters Classic: $26 with William Hill

Box Seven – Good Odds Ocker
Red Brindle Dog – 32.7kg – October 2013
Spring Gun x Punk Angel
Prize money: $18,826
Trainer: Tracey Hurst
Career: 8: 6-1-0
T/D: 3: 3-0-0
T/D Best: 29.76

“Won six in a row and his effort last week was enormous. After missing the start he had to weave through traffic and off the back straight he was still a fair way from the leader, however he absolutely powered to the line and he won running away in a 29.88. That effort was huge and there is no doubting he has the talent to match these chasers, however he would be better suited to a rails draw and I can't see him giving the three, four, five and eight a start and a beating. Will continue to work through the grades well and a promising staying career could be on the cards.”

Odds to win the Vic Peters Classic: $15 with William Hill

Box Eight – Zambora Brockie
Black Dog – 30.5kg – September 2013
Nitro Burst x Flying Liddy
Prize money: $11,293
Trainer: Anthony
Career: 12: 6-3-1
T/D: 3: 1-1-0
T/D Best: 29.66

“I think he and Blazin' Bomber are easily the two most talented chasers in the race and if he could somehow come out cleanly, he would run an almighty race, however his box manners can sometimes let him down and the pink box at Wentworth Park in big races has always been hard to win from. His chances will come down to what he does in the first 50m, if he comes out well, the wide draw will suit his race pattern and he should be able to muster into a top three position at the first turn, but if he misses away he will be posted wide and he will stay out there for the entire trip. I can't put him on top but he still must be respected.”

Odds to win the Vic Peters Classic: $3.50 with Bet365

1st Reserve – Good Odds Angel
Red Brindle Bitch – 27.6kg – October 2013
Spring Gun x Punk Angel
Prize money: $31,366
Trainer: Tracey Hurst
Career: 9: 4-2-2
T/D: 3: 1-1-1
T/D Best: 29.93

“Fast beginner and she always puts herself into contention in her races, however her last 50m is always a struggle and in this company she is always going to be reeled in. Can lead if she gains a start and has solid place claims.”

Odds to win the Vic Peters Classic: $6 with Sportsbet

2nd Reserve – No Donuts
Black Dog – 30.2kg – June 2013
Fabregas x Chevy Princess
Prize money: $67,572
Trainer: Brad Canty
Career: 27: 11-9-2
T/D: 15: 5-5-1
T/D Best: 29.59

“Class act when on song but he appears to have lost a lot of his early zip. Obviously a big chance if he gains a start but he will need to show a little more early speed than he has in recent weeks.”
