2016 Group 2 Horsham Cup – best odds & free betting preview

MARGINS will be aiming to become the first greyhound to win back-to-back Horsham Cups when the son of Bekim Bale and Gogo Sutro lines up in the 2 event on Sunday afternoon.

Trained by Brooke Ennis, the black dog comes into the race following a second placing behind To The Galo's in his heat last week and is rated a $16 chance with Sportsbet.com.au to go one better in the final.

He will have to be at his best to take home the $47,000 winner's cheque, having come up with box four in the decider.

Normally a slow beginner, he will need luck in the early stages but is capable of unleashing a big finish.

Team Ennis is also represented in the Cup by Zipping Chubbz, with Brooke's husband Jaime putting the polish on the Hallinan-owned greyhound.

A 27.15 heat winner, the red fawn dog has not been assisted by his box six draw as he too needs plenty of room to wind up and hit top gear.

The $1.50 favourite to take out the event is which will start from box eight, the same draw he used to record a scintillating 26.72 heat victory over the 480m trip in his heat.

The dual group winner is in stellar form, having won six of his past seven starts and should get a lovely run into the race on the outside of Aston Bolero ($9).

Trained by Jason Thompson, Aston Bolero is one of the most consistent dogs in training, with the six time group finalist a winner of 25 of his 42 career starts to date.

Box seven shouldn't pose too much of a problem and if he can improve on his 27.11 debut at the track he will take some catching.

Blazin' Bomber ($7.50) is an absolute beast and his 26.97 qualifying effort was stunning, however he is drawn awkwardly in box five and will need a bit of luck in the early stages.

Shared Equity represents the value of the field at $17 with the regally-bred daughter of Brett Lee and West On Bluebird drawn perfectly in the one.

She has won seven races wearing the red stretch vest and will be lining up for her 12th group final on Sunday afternoon – while she doesn't like to be crowded she is normally a good beginner and will get every chance to sneak away early and pinch the race on the lure.

To The Galo's is another which can't be overlooked in this quality field. He was very impressive in his 27.03 heat win here last week and generally shows a fair bit of pace which is sure to put him right into calculations.

The field is rounded out by Fleet Return from box three which is the roughie of the race at $21. While he has an impressive 26.96 personal best over the track and trip to his name, this is a massive rise in class on his most recent runs and he won't be able to afford any mistakes.

The Group 2 Horsham Cup is race seven on Sunday afternoon and is set to jump at 2:18pm.
