2016 Listed Flying Amy Classic – best bookie odds & free tips

EIGHT of the best youngsters in Queensland will do battle on Thursday night when the lids fly open for the Flying Amy Classic (520m) at Albion Park.

Boom pup Thirty Talks is the dominant favourite to take home the $25,200 winner's after his 29.66 qualifying win, with online bookmaker Sportsbet.com.au installing him as the $2.50 top elect. Trained by Tony Brett, the brindle dog will be aiming to make it seven in a row in the decider and 13 from 16 overall, with a victory set to add to his Group 2 final victory which he scored on May 28.

Brett also has the favourite's litter sister engaged in the feature, with Split Image set to start from box eight. The daughter of Where's Pedro and Unfinished doesn't have the winning strike rate of her brother, with four wins and five minors from 11 starts, but she is blessed with plenty of ability as shown when she won this year's Group 2 Vince Curry Memorial Maiden in a fast 30.42. The best odds for punter's wishing to back Split Image are through Crownbet.com.au where you can currently get $7.

Fabulous Bill is rated the best chance by the bookies to topple the favourite, with the $5 with .com.au to take home the accolades. The black dog isn't drawn terribly well in box five, but has speed to burn and will take some reeling in if he can find the bunny. The son of and Regal Silver comes into the event on the back of an eleven and one quarter lengths victory in his heat where he clocked a nippy 29.96.

Lucky Sally has only won two from 12 overall, however she clocked 30.00 last start when finishing second behind Thirty Talks which gives her a chance. Has been assisted with a favourable draw in box one and will be looking to push up along the fence around the first turn – if she can do so she can definitely run into some money.

Issy Cool won her heat in 30.31 last week for trainer Tony Apap and she has been racing in ultra consistent fashion of late, only missing the top three twice in her last 10 starts. There is a bit of speed in the race so she will have to do everything right early, reflected in her $11 price.

The other three finalists are rough chances, headed by Boom Warrior who is well drawn in box two. The red fawn dog is $31 with William Hill and will need plenty of luck as a slow beginner in this hot field.

Gelantipy Gold is a $34 shot and comes into the race having finished second behind Fabulous Bill in his heat, while Wings Of Perlita is the rank outsider at $41, but could possibly be one to throw into the multiples at big odds.

The Listed Flying Amy Classic is race five on the card at Albion Park on Thursday night and is set to jump at 8:07pm.
