Leg 1 – The Gardens – Race 8: Sutro Shiraz To Place (Top Two Finish Required) $2.30
Sutro Shiraz is a powerful chaser and five runs back he posted a brilliant 43.77 Gosford win over a similar journey. Today he takes on quite a weak lineup and with some luck in running he should be right there and in contention as they turn for home. He will have his work cut out trying to reel in Gracie See More but I think he is up to the challenge and with an ounce of luck I can't see him missing the top two.
Leg 2 – Ipswich – Race 9: Mal Rose Hi To Place $2.50
Mal Rose Hi is probably better suited to a longer journey but he is ideally placed in the pink draw and he will be charging home at the business end. He has been placed in seven of nine tries over this trip and he is dropping considerably in class. He will need some luck in running but he does tend to stay out wide so he shouldn't cop too much interference.
Leg 3 – Bendigo – Race 6: Quick Kisses To Place $3.40
Quick Kisses doesn't have very attractive form but she is much better than that and she is perfectly placed in the eight. She is normally armed with smart early speed and she finds herself in a race which lacks early pace depth, so with a clean getaway she should be able to settle in the top two and she will prove hard to reel in. There are a couple of handy ones in the event but they are likely to find bother and I am expecting her to steal a break mid race, she will be a nice price and outside of the multi she will be a great each way investment.
