Greyhound Betting Tips Thursday 24th April

Big night of racing in the Sunshine State tonight. hosts five heats of the Two Derby and the final of the $58,500 .

Interstate raiders have a big hand in both features with Group One winner Keybow for trainer Darren McDonald engaged in the final heat from box two. If he spears the lids it's possible the may fall. Keybow will tackle the locals and brilliant track record holder Shot To Bits from box five. Late Angel Lee is the equal Albion Park track record holder and has drawn box three in heat one. He will prove hard to beat.

The Futurity final is an interesting affair with three trainers having two runners each in the final, with each pairing of dogs being littermates. , Peter Young and will rug up two runners each in the $40,000 to the winner final at 8.44pm.

Albion Park Greyhounds Race 4 Box 1 You Say So, 7.41pm

All the Derby heats look tough tonight, and it will be very difficult finding winners . You Say So for trainer Peter Reutschi has drawn the red and looks very hard to beat. As I often say boxes win races and box one in these sort of races is worth a couple of lengths. He flew the lids last week to lead in a very fast 5.48 first sectional and led all the way to win in a solid 30.09. I see no reason why he can't repeat that first sectional tonight and should he repeat that he looks the likely leader around the first turn. Last week's win was a PB for You Say So and it looks quite possible with natural progression he may lower that time here tonight. He looks the leader, he will be on the bunny and he looks a great bet.

There's plenty of dangers, but in a race that looks dominated by the leaders it looks unlikely they can get across to lead You Say So. Chant and Angvella will both spear the lids from out wide, Angvella cuts hard left and it's likely he'll get tangled with Chant. Thunder Of Speed also flys out and he should make it tough for Fusaichi Kahn early on. With the perfect box and early speed You Say So should win. Punters looking to take exotics should anchor You Say So from four runners as it looks mighty hard to find the placings.

Angle Park Greyhounds Race 5 Box 8 Mel Allen, 8.38pm

Race five at Angle Park is a very tough and open affair. Really I should be finding something else to back here tonight, but Mel Allen may start at good odds. She was pretty good last start running second to Stitch Miss in a solid 30.16 when beaten two lengths. Mel Allen was hampered in that race and should have finished a lot closer to Stitch Miss than she did. From the suitable draw tonight she should get a great sit early in second or third behind likely early leader Avid . If she can get around the first turn a couple of lengths behind Avid Tyson I suspect she should run her down in the run to the line.

Avid Tyson paddles over the last 50 metres so she'll be a sitting duck. A lot will obviously depend on Mel Allen getting around the first turn and in a forward position. Eachway bet and great chance. Outside of these two I do like the chances of box four runner Fun For All trained by Petar Jovanovic. She was pretty good three starts back running 30.00 and if she gets forward she'll be coming on strong, so have a saver on her.

Dapto Greyhounds Race 3 Box 7 Stiff Arm, 8.11pm

In race that looks a match race, I'm going to back Stiff Arm who should be $5.00 in a two dog race. Stiff Arm and the brilliant Jewel Action look the only two capable of winning. Jewel Action was brilliant last week when winning in a flying 29.77 after posting a slow 30.77 performance trial. She led all the way and gave nothing else a chance. Stiff Arm could lead Jewel Action tonight and while he can't go as quick, she may not be the same dog off the bunny and chasing a bum. Stiff Arm goes really well here at and he's worth a punt in a two dog race.

Jewel Action and Stiff Arm should run one and two so I suggest taking the trifecta with runners 1,4,6 for third.

Hobart Greyhounds Race 7 Box 5 Faolan, 9.25

This fellow should have finished a little bit closer than he did here last Thursday night. He's won his most races from box five and is in pretty good form at present. Tonight's field isn't as tough as last week when he placed third behind Rockvel in 26.33. He has the early speed to jump near the front tonight and once out on the bunny he'll prove very hard to catch. He's broken the elusive 26.00 second barrier here and while he's probably not in that form at present he should still get down to around 26.10, which is fast enough to win this.

His Littermate frytson jumps from box one and may be a smokey from the red. He too can gallop but hasn't performed for a while now. This is the sort of race he can return to form and box one will aid that cause so keep him safe.

Win bet on Faolan and a saver on litter brother Frytson.

Sandown Greyhounds Race 10 Box 1 Amadeus Strikes, 10.12

Amadeus Strikes has been racing quite well for trainer Robert Britton. The daughter of Bombastic Shiraz has won four races from box one, and two starts back got the job done at the tight Meadows circuit from the red. She's a pretty tough customer who has won over $100,000 and this race looks her chance to add another $5,000 to that tally.

It's unlikely she will lead and that role may be assumed by box seven runner Lektra Bianca, but she's very suspect at the trip. All Amadeus Strikes needs to is position up in behind the early leaders and I suspect she can start to pick them up midway through.

Box eight runner Clown Your Own could return the the winners circle. He can follow Lektra Bianca across and if he does he'll prove hard to topple.

Punters looking to take exotics could box up runners 1,3,8 in a exacta $6.00 for 100%

Best of Luck
