Albion Park Greyhounds Race 7 Box 1 Senor's Mistress 4.47pm
Senor's Mistress looks a solid bet here today in a race with only three possible winning hopes. She has drawn the red box and she should be capable of exiting the boxes in the leading division. She has plenty of dash and finds a leg once she's out on the bunny and has posted a best winning time of 30.12. Last start she was only just narrowly defeated by the Ellie's Flash, who came out again and ran a solid second on Monday night. If Senor's Mistress can get forward early and make the pace she can win.
The dangers are Miss Kamikaze, a daughter of the very talented sprinter Gardam Prince, who looks to be really handy bitch in the making. She too has recorded a fast time here and has stopped the clock in 30.10 from box three. She should ping and go and is likely to race up with Senor's Mistress for the entire trip.
Super Vision in box seven is the only other dog who can win, after winning super well Thursday night when pinging the lids and leading all the way on a rain soaked track. She too has done all her racing here, but hasn't gone as quick as the other two. Box seven makes it tough for her, but she still very capable of running in the top three.
Punters looking to take exotics could try taking this trifecta combination, 1,3-1,3,7-1,3,7. Cost $4.00 for 100%.
Angle Park Greyhounds Race 11 Box 1 Aston 4.36pm
Tough race, but boxes win races and Aston has box one and should punch right up here and hold out the outside division. It's been a while since the son of Bombastic Shiraz has seen the winners dias, but he has recorded a fast 22.35 here, and a repeat of that will see him first across the line. He has a fantastic record from box one with five starts for two wins and two placings.
He's has been racing in much harder company of late and the drop back in class will suit him. He should start at odds of around $5.00 and at that price he's worth a eachway ticket. Uncle Vick is the danger after his solid last start performance at Gawler, when he clocked an a impressive 22.63 getting beat. So keep a close eye on him.
Cannington Greyhounds Race 9 Box 8 West On Raven 12.12am
The main two hopes in this are box two runner Freeway Sparkle and box eight runner West On Raven, trained by WA's leading trainer Linda Britton. I just can't bring myself to back the inconsistent and unreliable Freeway Sparkle, so the only other likely chance is West On Raven. Box eight will make it tough and dropping back from the 647 metre journey will prove a challenge. But she's won here before in fair time and has developed into a faster dog since she last won here.
Linda Britton sure knows how to lead home the winners, so if West On Raven starts at odds of $6.00 or more I suggest having a go here. Freeway Sparkle is the main hope, but she's been far to unreliable and costly and Id prefer to steer clear.
Look for value and it could be a race in which the exotics pay quite healthy.
