Greyhound Racing Tips For Wednesday 11th November 2009

We're Back!!!!!

Welcome back to our daily free greyhound racing tips. As many of you would've noticed we had a forced hiatus on the website when what should have been a simple move from our old server to a newer, bigger, faster model turned in to a one week trip in to the ether where we completely disappeared from planet internet. After a week waiting to get back online, it took another week to catch up but all the planets have aligned and we are good to go.

Tonight we have tips from from (Victoria), Warrnambool (Victoria), (New South Wales), (Queensland), and Cannington (West Australia); but if you haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet get yourself set up with an account at Sportsbet who are now offering a special $200 free bet bundle to all our readers.

With tonight's racing coming Ballarat (Victoria), Warrnambool (Victoria), The Gardens (New South Wales), Ipswich (Queensland), and Cannington (West Australia), lets review our betting advice for those tracks.

Ballarat is one of the fairest one turn tracks in the country and in general punters can bet with confidence over all distances, although inside boxes are slightly favoured and the 8 box races well off the 450m start. The track suits both speedy and strong greyhounds. Ballarat have just started racing from the new 390m boxes, from which we don;t have enough data to form solid opinion yet, but generally these shorter course races are lethal for profitable wagering and should be avoided. We'll update you as we get a feel for races from this start as the weeks progress.

Warrnambool was redeveloped in 2008 to remove much of the bias and interference that occurred on the old “egg” shaped track. Unfortunately while interference has been reduced, “transition turns” have turned the track in to a leader biased procession. In almost all races the winner comes from the greyhound in front about 50m from the boxes. Only strong railing greyhounds can make ground from behind and wide runners are decidedly disadvantaged. The red box is favoured over all distances.

The Gardens is one of New South Wales' newest tracks and now the sole home of the . The track strongly favours early speed dogs but the 413m races should be avoided at all costs as they are decided more by interference than ability. The 515m races are worth betting on but the inside 3 boxes are all favoured and even good dogs will find it hard to cross from wide draws. The 600m trip, being a corner, start can often pose a difficult greyhound betting option and the inside box is a huge advantage. Few races are run over the 715m journey.

Ipswich can be a punters graveyard and as a general rule punters avoid investing in the 431m races unless you are laying them on Betfair, as the corner starts throws up many unlikely winners and lots of interference. If you must bet on these races, box 1 wins almost twice as many races as every other box with the exception of the second best box, box 2. The 520m races are a little more even, but have a decided bias toward the four inside boxes due to the short run to the corner and even class greyhounds find it hard to win from wide boxes. The 630m races are another corner start.

Cannington is one of the better two tracks which does tend to give greyhounds off the speed a chance to run on. Both the 530m, and 642m distances favour the inside boxes and the 1 box has a slight advantage over the 715m distance. The 297m races, starting at the top of the back straight, runs reasonably fairly, although box 1 is an advantage. The four inside boxes are advantaged over the 530m, the three inside boxes over the 642m and the 715m races reasonably evenly.

Ballarat Greyhounds – Race 7 – Box 6 – Slipway Misty

Underrated Slipway Misty could be the surprise runner here having won both her only 2 wins from 7 starts on the track with a PB of 25.37. Has been wayward previously but looks very good when on the bunny. Needs to get away well from box 6 but could give these the slip.

Ballarat Greyhounds – Race 10 – Box 7 – Vitesse

The Dave Burnett trained Vitesse looks a live chance from box 7 in the second last here at Ballarat. Started his career off very well with some good wins and a 30.25 Meadows effort but hasn't been able to get past the post first lately despite running quite a few placings. Suited by box 7 he should get every chance to wind up and .

Ballarat Greyhounds – Race 11 – Box 7 – Where's Rufus

Where's Rufus is a litter brother to the flying Din's Son and has overcome an injury enforced lay off since February 2009 with a more than handy Healesville win last Saturday. Prior to that picked up good wins at Geelong 25.54, Ballarat 25.21 and Shepparton 25.56. Has won 6 from 21 now with a further 5 placings and has a reputation as a very fast greyhound.

Ballarat Greyhounds – Race 12 – Box 1 – Karongah Gem

Karongah Gem is one of those we've tipped a few times and have caught her at good odds on one occasion. Has still only one the two races from 17 starts but has run 6 placings. Hasn't won for a while but has been mixing tracks and distances. Both her wins have come from box 1 and this scratching reduced field suits her perfectly. If she is not winning this, she isn't winning anywhere anytime soon.

Warrnambool Greyhounds – Race 8 – Box 7 – Sure Cool

Sure Cool has been in devastating for of late for local legendary breeder/trainer Kevin Mugavin. Has won 3 of her past 5 starts here and at Ballarat and just doesn't seem to run a bad race. Can win from any box and has a good turn of foot, so leading this field will not surprise. This is about as far as she wants is so needs to lead cleanly but we'll be getting a good price, the best dog in the field.

The Gardens Greyhounds – Race 6 – Box 1 – Simply A Missl

If the grader hadn't done their best to ensure that Simply A Miss was the best of good things tonight, then the box draw certainly has. Coming up with box 1 and having had just the 5 starts for 2 wins including one on this track over this distance in 30.08, this daughter of Bond is easily the most promising greyhound in the race. Just has to jump on terms and class should see her home.
