Welcome to Australian Racing Greyhound's Greyhound Racing Tips for Wednesday 26th August 2009 with Tips tonight from Ballarat (Victoria), Warrnambool (Victoria), Bulli (New South Wales), Ipswich (Queensland) and Cannington (West Australia).
With Greyhound Racing tonight coming Ballarat (Victoria), Warrnambool (Victoria), Bulli (New South Wales), Ipswich (Queensland), and Cannington (West Australia), lets review our betting advice for those tracks.
Ballarat is one of the fairest one turn tracks in the country and in general punters can bet with confidence over all distances, although inside boxes are slightly favoured and the 8 box races well off the 450m start. The track suits both speedy and strong greyhounds
Warrnambool was redeveloped in 2008 to remove much of the bias and interference that occured on the old “egg” shaped track. Unfortunately while inteference has been reduced, “transition turns” have turned the track in to a leader biased procession. In almost all races the winner comes from the greyhound in front about 50m from the boxes. Only strong railing greyhounds can make ground from behind and wide runners are decidedly disadvantaged. The red box is favoured over all distances.
Bulli, like Horsham is considered on of the fairest tracks in Australia, with every greyhound afforded a chance from any box. The 400m and 472m starts both demonstrate the normal greyhound race distribution of boxes 1,2,8,7 favoured, with the 472m start extremely even across all boxes with the exception of 1 and 8. The 515m start, being a slight corner start, has a preference toward the four inside boxes. The best betting races are the 472 events, but the 400m races and also attractive.
Ipswich can be a punters graveyard and as a general rule punters avoid investing in the 431m races unless you are laying them on Betfair, as the corner starts throws up many unlikely winners and lots of interference. If you must bet on these races, box 1 wins almost twice as many races as every other box with the exception of the second best box, box 2. The 520m races are a little more even, but have a decided bias toward the four inside boxes due to the short run to the corner and even class greyhounds find it hard to win from wide boxes. The 630m races are another corner start.
Cannington is one of the better two tracks which does tend to give greyhounds off the speed a chance to run on. Both the 530m, and 642m distances favour the inside boxes and the 1 box has a slight advantage over the 715m distance. The 297m races,starting at the top of the back straight, runs reasonably fairly, although box 1 is an advantage. The four inside boxes are advantaged over the 530m, the three inside boxes over the 642m and the 715m races reasonably evenly.
Ballarat Greyhounds – Race 6 – Box 7 – Last Man Out
The Wayne Vassallo trained Last Man Out is perfectly boxed outwide and with the late scratching of Matching Outcome on his outside looks a moral in this. has won 11 of 24 starts with 7 placings and ran a very good 25.66 last start at Geelong beating Young Ravello from box 5. Has won all but 2 of his races from the outside 4 boxes and is more than handy when on song.
Ballarat Greyhounds – Race 8 – Box 5 – Major Mission
Major Mission debuted here last week and demonstrated his Warragul Cup winning from leading all the way from box 1 in a best of night 25.17. Beat his main opposition here in Gypsy Flame by 3.75 lengths then and although awwkardly drawn is actually unbeaten from this box. Should be able to lead and win yet again and make it three in a row.
Warrnambool Greyhounds – Race 3 – Box 2 – Arapaho Boy
Don't normally advise betting in these short races, let alone debutante races, but Arapaho Boy has been trially well and showing a good turn of foor from the boxes. Unless something exceptional turns up here, Arapaho Boy will go very close to winning at good odds.
Warrnambool Greyhounds – Race 7 – Box 4 – Dohtmann
Dohmann led all the way in a more than handy 25.50 last week and scored her second win from 4 starts. Both wins have been here from boxes 7 and 4 running 25.62 and now 25.50. Locally trained and early pace will suit in this 390m race.
Warrnambool Greyhounds – Race 9 – Box 8 – Santosa's Rose
Good last start circle winnner her in 22.29 from this box and had previously won here in 22.36. Is yet to be unplaced from 4 starts over the 390m here and was an excellent Longwood Cup coursing winner on Sunday beating a previously undefeated greyhound. Surprisingly most greyhounds go very well after three hit ups, up the straight coursing on the weekend and expect her to go very well tonight.
Bulli Greyhounds – Race 2 – Box 1 – Realon Raphsody
Realon Raphsody is locally trained by the Brodie's and they've had some very good successes with greyhounds particularly at Bulli. Realon Raphsody bolted in here on debut running 22.64 from box 5 and although he only managed second in the maiden final, in slower time, off box 1 tonight, I'd bank an an ultra improved performance. The money will come for him, so don;t expect huge odds.
Bulli Greyhounds – Race 3 – Box 7 – Goodsey
The kids won't be singing for their supper this week, the rent bet of the week is Goodsey, who has started just twice for two wins here in 26.42 and 26.38. John Finn looks like he has another superstar in the kennel and it looks like this son of Collision~Frosty Fruits has a bright future.
Bulli Greyhounds – Race 7 – Box 3 – Spring Casey
The Anthony Azzopardi trained Spring Casey is yet to be unplaced from 6 career starts, having won at Wentworth Park in 30.49 and here over 400m in 22.56. Does have early pace and looks the early leader and should have no trouble running the trip out based on her last start 26.42 heat win last week.
Ipswich Greyhounds – Race 8 – Box 8 – Keroma Oh Seven
After starting in the Ipswich maiden series and showing form around High Earner, Keroma Oh Seven has been more than dissapointing but showed somehting close to that form last start running 30.93 to win last weeks heat. Has run 30.27 here and did win the start prior at Grafton over 610m, so is amaing for 3 in a row, but has to run upt to his best from box 8.
