Bogie Emerald has been placed in ten of eleven tries here with six of those being victories. She is a keen railer and if she can step cleanly she should be able to carve across in the early stages and break up the field. She is one of the more reliable beginners in training and this really looks her race. Katz Shadow could be the value in the event, he is much better than his recent form suggests and with a better getaway tonight he should be thereabouts. Fancy Rick will start a short priced favourite but he will need all the breaks from the middle pin, he has a blistering 22.55 PB here but he can be very hit or miss early. Emerley Wizard rounds out the chances, he is drawn to settle in the top three early and he too excels at this venue.

Pepper Kahn has her favourite draw and this is the weakest event she has contested for quite a while now. She normally steps cleanly and she should find herself in the first two as they negotiate the first bend. She has a flat spot mid race but she will come again in the home straight and she should prove too strong in the run home. Allen Paragon powered to the line when placed at Angle Park last time and he looms as a danger, he appears to be getting better with every run in SA and he will break through soon. Wave Jockey is well drawn out wide and he has a great record here, his form at present is better than it reads.
