Race 4 – 530M WA Oaks Heat One – 10:09PM

The first heat looks to be a battle between three classy speedsters in Liara Allen, Oakvale Flyer and Replica Queen. All three have recorded numerous city wins and they can also test the clock. After accessing each chasers strengths and weaknesses, it's hard to look past Victorian star Oakvale Flyer. The Robert Britton trained chaser has already made a number of Race Finals and two starts ago she smashed a quality line-up when scoring at Park in 29.48. Obviously the early speed of Lady Goldenpaw may be a concern, however Oakvale Flyer has the unique ability to win races by either leading or coming from off the speed.

Liara Allen returned to form with a strong 30.22 Meadows win from this draw last week and with some luck early she should figure prominently again. Her box manners aren't the best, however she has a slow beginner drawn directly outside and she should get every chance to drive through at the first bend. The fact that she has raced here previously also enhances her chances. Replica Queen is one of WA's up and coming stars and she has a tremendous record here having won eight of twelve and she boasts a slick 30.46 PB. She is normally a and she is likely to set the pace, my only concern is that in her previous races she has not had a lot of pressure applied to her mid race. Tonight I'm anticipating her to be feeling a lot of heat from a few runners off the back straight and she will need to pull out a big effort to hold off some of her stronger competitors. It is a very interesting and strong heat and the winner should come from one of those three.

Race 5 – 530M WA Oaks Heat Two – 10:32PM

Another quality line-up look set to do battle. Victorian superstar Mepunga Hayley should start short odds and if she can do everything right she should advance to next week's rich final. Last week at she bombed the start and she continued to find trouble in the run, however she picked herself up and continued to hit the line strongly. Prior to that defeat she had strung together five consecutive wins and they were all in explosive fashion. During that stretch she was pinging the lids and recordings sizzling sectionals. There is a little bit of early speed in this event, but if she happens to step on terms she will have too much natural speed for her rivals.

Queensland Speedster Le Sirenuse is making her WA debut and comes here with strong open class form in her home state. Her box manners can be a little bit of a concern at times but when she hits the ground she does muster pace at a rate of knots. Although she is a railer, tonight's draw shouldn't be too much of a disadvantage. From the pink if she misses the kick she will still get plenty of room to muster speed. Free Candy appears to be the only other winning hope in this event, she has won six of 15 here and her quick 30.46 PB was recorded in her last start win. She isn't armed with an abundance of early speed but if she gets enough room in the first 50m she should be able to hold her position.

Top Four: 2 – 8 – 7 – 5

Race 6 – 530M WA Oaks Heat Three – 10:50PM

This is probably the most exciting heat for mine. WA star Gone To Heaven will do battle with two gun interstate visitors in Mepunga Moss and Chica Destacada. It's always hard to tip against the home field advantage but I am a huge fan of Chica Destacada. Prior to her last start defeat she really caught my eye with two wins in 29.51 and 29.49 respectively. Her latest win was from an awkward draw so tonight's wide draw shouldn't be too much of a concern.

Victorian raider Mepunga Moss is another who has been racing in sizzling form of late. Three starts ago she led throughout at Sandown when scoring in 29.43 and she followed that effort up with a brilliant second behind the in form Mepunga Hayley. She has a fair bit of pace drawn outside her tonight but she should have sufficient speed to fire through early. Local star Gone To Heaven rounds out the winning chances, she has the tremendous record of 10 wins from 16 tries here and she boasts a ridiculous 30.09 PB. My only concern with her is that she has been a tad disappointing in her past few and if she isn't on the bunny she doesn't always show her best.

Top Four: 7 – 3 – 4 – 2

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 3,7/3,7/Field ($10 for 100%)

Trifecta: 7/3,4/2,3,4,6,8 ($8 for 100%)

Race 7 – 530M WA Oaks Heat Four – 11:07PM

Oakvale Destiny is another star Victorian and he should give the Britton family another finalist. Two starts ago she unleashed a powerful finishing burst to score at Sandown Park in a smart 29.67 and on that effort she should have their measure here. The empty draw underneath should enhance her chances and I can see her settling around third through the first turn and she should take over off the back straight. She is likely to start fairly short but she is all class and I would be very surprised if she got rolled.

Regal Patch looms as the likely danger to the favourite, last week she showed solid early speed and was far from disgraced when placed here in solid time. This is obviously her toughest test but I don't think it is totally beyond her. Angels Chorus and Kerry Spice appear to be the other place hopes as both have been racing here in consistent style.

Top Four: 6 – 2 – 7 – 1

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 6/1,2,7/1,2,3,7 ($9 for 100%)

Trifecta: 6/2/1,3,7 ($3 for 100%)
