Leg 1 – Angle Park – Race 6: My Boy Brodie To Place $2.62
My Boy Brodie is a talented former Sydney middle distance chaser and after two runs in SA he should be ready to show his best. The wide draw shouldn't pose too many problems as I expect him to drop out in the early stages, however he is armed with a monster finish and if the gaps open mid race he should be there at the end. This isn't an overly strong race depth wise, so with an ounce of luck he should make his presence felt.
Leg 2 – Albion Park – Race 7: Startin' Monday To Place $2.20
Startin' Monday isn't the best of beginners but he does hit the line very well in his races and he should appreciate the drop in class tonight. He is resuming after a couple of months off, so he should sprint well fresh and prior to going for a spell he had turned in some terrific performances over the 600m journey here. There are quite a few runners in this event who will struggle in the closing stages, so he should be able to pick them off late in the race.
Leg 3 – Nowra – Race 6: Gold Shaft To Place $2.75
Gold Shaft doesn't have great form at present but he is more than capable on his day and he is dropping in class today. He will likely miss the kick but he does muster speed quite well and with a couple of railers drawn underneath he should get a nice cart across in the initial stages. His main competition will come from the two, three and four but with some luck in running I think he will have their measure.
