Leg 1 – Angle Park – Race 5: Freesia Bale To Place (Top Two) $2
Freesia Bale is an ultra consistent chaser and she has a great record over this track and trip. She has been taking on much stronger company of late and she should appreciate the drop in class tonight. There isn't a lot of speed outside of the eight, so if she can step on terms she should be able to settle in the top two or three and she will be very strong in the run to the line. I have chosen the place option as safety, however it might be worthwhile having something on her for the win at $4 as it appears to be a nice price.
Leg 2 – Angle Park – Race 9: Cambridge Prince To Place (Top Two) $2.25
Cambridge Prince hasn't won for quite a while but he is suited by the smaller field and he is dropping slightly in class. He isn't the best of beginners but there are numerous wide runners in this race, so if he comes out on terms he should be able to push through and hold a forward spot early. He will save a lot of ground through the corners and that could be the difference in this event, he does appear to be a nice value bet.
Leg 3 – Warrnambool – Race 7: Swan To Steele To Win $3.65
Swan To Steele is an exciting middle distance prospect and on talent he has a fair bit on his rivals. In recent weeks he has been missing the start a little but I'm expecting him to jump better tonight and he shouldn't have too much trouble in finding the early lead. This is his first try over this distance range so it is a slight concern, however he has hit the line well over the 570m journey recently and he gives every indication that he shouldn't have too much trouble with the trip. He is currently massive over's at $3.65 so I suggest you snap it up early.
