Bunga Bunga has shown a return to form recently and from her favourable draw she should continue on her winning way. Four starts ago she posted a strong 29.74 win here and most recently she scored a commanding 30.20 Cranbourne win from this draw, so if she can get away on terms tonight she should be able to lead from go to whoa.

Weblec Bale is unbeaten in her two starts to date and it's hard to ignore her debut win here in a slick 29.71, on that occasion she showed smart early speed and scored by a whopping 12 lengths. This is clearly a big step up in class but she should be able to handle it. Erza Allen recently posted a handy 30.28 Meadows win and with a clean getaway tonight she should figure prominently. Her box manners can be a little inconsistent but when she pings she is capable of running slick sectionals on the bunny. Dyna Synch rounds out the winning hopes, he is likely to get a long way back initially but he has been hitting the line solidly of late and he tends to race well here.

Bridgeson is an exciting prospect and she looks well graded in this event. Prior to her luckless Meadows effort, she showed a tremendous turn of foot when scoring at in a speedy 27.15. There isn't a whole lot of speed drawn around her tonight and if she reproduces her blistering 29.40 PB run here she will prove far too classy for this lot.

Airbound is a very consistent chaser having been placed in seven of his past eight starts. He races better from inside draws but he is likely to get back early so he should be able to find the rail soon after the start. Dyna Zod scored a brilliant 25.84 win from this draw last month and if he can improve his box manners tonight he will be a major player. Young Hawke is the interesting runner, he is very hit or miss at box rise but when he steps he is capable of carving out very zippy sectionals. He is likely to start around the $8 mark and with slow beginners on his outside he should get a clear run in the early stages, so he is definitely over the odds.

Glock has turned in some enormous performances of late and he should fire again tonight. He first caught my eye when he charged home to be narrowly beaten by All Strung Out at Cranbourne four runs back. Since then he has posted a strong 600m Meadows win and last Sunday he smashed his rivals when scoring here in a very fast 29.45. The wide draw isn't an advantage but he has the ability to lead or come from off the speed in his races.

Allen Gravion has the good draw and he was far from disgraced when narrowly beaten here on Sunday. From the red he should be able to settle a little closer to the early speed and he is very strong in the run to the line. Sig Sauer showed a great turn of foot when scoring a 29.59 heat win and he should be in the mix from the outset. He had been struggling for a while there but he appears to have put it all together in his past two starts. Above All is likely to start favourite and based on his breathtaking 29.33 heat win he must be respected, my only concern with him is that there is a bit of speed drawn either side and he may not get enough room to muster.

Dynamo's Miss has been racing in great style at Ballarat of late and I think she may be great value in this event. Two starts ago she was placed behind the states hottest chaser in Allen Deed and she followed that effort up with a strong 30.98 victory there. She can be a little hit or miss early but if she gets away with them she will take a power of beating at nice odds.

Sonic Pirate steps up in distance and he shouldn't have too much trouble running out it. He has a terrific record here over the 515m trip and he is normally quite reliable early, the wide draw is also an advantage. Dyna Glinda pinged the lids when scoring at The Meadows in 34.43 recently and she is likely to start favourite. She is obviously a great winning chance but she is very hit or miss early and I wouldn't be willing to take short odds. Ima Fairytale does her best racing here and if she can reproduce her blistering 34.13 PB here should she be right in the mix.

8BEKIM HATRICK [5]22457NBTC Schlensog (Anakie)

Ruff Cut Diamond is making her well awaited staying debut and with the scratching of two smart types her task has been made a lot easier. Since her breathtaking 29.26 win here she hasn't experienced a lot of luck and I'm expecting her to be able to find the early lead tonight and that should allow her to regain some confidence. The manner in which she has hit the line over her middle distance races of late suggests that she shouldn't have too much trouble covering the extra distance

Starc is another making his staying debut and he should relish the rise in distance. He has turned in some monster efforts at The Meadows over 600m of late and he should be breathing down the favourites neck as they head for the finish line. Newfire Riley is a veteran chaser and he is still racing well, he will be suited by the smaller field and if the two staying debutant struggle in the run home he should be thereabouts and ready to pounce.

Where's The Surf showed a sign of his best form when runner up here last week and I think he can go one better tonight at nice odds. Before last week's effort he had experienced a string of luckless efforts and with his confidence boosting run last week I believe he will be back to his brilliant best tonight. He is yet to win here in seven tries but he has been placed in four of those runs.

All Strung Out recently captured the at The Meadows and he appears to be getting better with every run. He can be a tad slow to begin in his races but he has terrific track sense and he is able to work his way through a field. Warrior King has won only one of eight here but that win was in a scorching 29.25, the box draw is against him tonight but he has the ability to ping the lids on occasions and if he does tonight he should be a major player.

Gimme Fuel is armed with explosive early speed and he should prove hard to reel in based on his impressive 34.33 heat win last week. There is a little bit of speed drawn underneath him tonight but he should have sufficient speed to cross and he appears to be getting stronger with every run over this journey.

Dyna Perseus has been very costly in recent times and he is a very hard dog to follow, however there is no doubting his talent and he is always a chance in these races because he does have the ability to ping away. Lou Todd finished quite strongly when placed in his heat and he won't be too far away at nice odds. Mystic Twist was a top all the way 34.36 heat winner last week and if she can cross from the wide draw she should be in the mix again. She can be a bit risky at box rise and from the wide draw she will need to step but I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt and say she will get away on terms with them.

Crackerjack Dak is the reigning Victorian Sprint Champ and he is unbeaten in three runs over this track and trip. In his return to Victoria he experienced no luck at all at The Meadows and I am expecting him to improve tonight. He is normally a very reliable beginner and he has gone a very zippy 5.03 to the first marker here in the past.

Astronomic is another who hasn't raced with a lot of luck recently and he should be able to follow Crackerjack Dak across in the early stages and he should be able to settle in the first two as they negotiate the first turn. Rumbling Rick has the good draw and he hasn't missed a place in his past eight starts. With a clean getaway tonight he should be in the mix for a long way again. Humphrey Bale could be the value in the event, his last two runs have been poor but he is much better than that and he can run a big race at odds.

Reigning Golden Easter Egg Champion Tonk didn't have much luck when resuming from a spell at Warragul but he will be much better for the run and from the red draw tonight he should be able to lead from go to whoa. This is his first try over this distance range but I'm sure he would have had a number of trials in the lead up to this and he shouldn't have too much trouble covering the extra ground.

Duchess Bale has a smart 34.37 PB over this journey and she should be able to settle in the top two or three initially, she has missed the kick in her past two so she appreciate being up on the speed and out of trouble. Dyna Orion is the run on dog in the event and he appears perfectly placed in the two box, with a fairly clean getaway he should be able to settle just off the speed and he will be looking to run over the top late. Rumero Reason has a good record here over this trip and the 515m journey and if he can avoid early bother he won't be far away at the business end of proceedings.

Jewel Bale has been placed in all seven tries from this draw and this is one of the easiest races she has contested for a while. She tends to jump a lot better from this draw and she should be able to settle in the top three early, with a blistering 29.32 PB here she should prove far too strong in the run home.

Lamia Bale recently scored a commanding 29.54 win here and she is one of the more reliable beginners in this event. She should have enough speed to cross in the early stages and she should give a great sight. Crowdza Captive has been placed in 15 of her 22 tries here and she should settle in the top two early, her last 50m isn't great but if there is some shuffling behind her she may steal the prize. Tiggerlong Amigo has been a little disappointing of late but he is in good hands and he should make some improvement.

National Time has been absolutely airborne of late and if he steps away cleanly he should continue on his winning way. In his past three country wins he has smashed quality opposition and the turn of foot he showed after the start was tremendous. He has a top 29.43 PB to his credit and a similar effort tonight will see him fight out the finish.

Peter's Pick has turned in great performances in his two Victorian runs and he should be suited by the rise in distance. Prior to coming to Victoria he had scored some blistering wins at over a similar journey. Mepunga Ranger has come up with the coveted red draw and he recently caught the eye when he scored a powerful 30.09 Meadows win, he has raced well here in the past and with a clear run initially he should be in the mix. Samus Allen has been a little disappointing in her past few but with a better start tonight she can find some form.

Race 12 – 515M Grade 5 – 10:52PM

Shanlyn Patch has recently rejoined the powerful Thompson kennel and from his favourable draw he looks poised to return to the winners list. Prior to returning to Victoria, he had been racing well at and he had scored two sub 30 second wins. He likes to scout wide in his races and with a slick beginner and keen railer drawn underneath he should get a nice cart across.

Summer Wages has won three of five runs here and if he can reproduce his 29.50 PB run here he should be fighting out the finish, my only concern with him is that he is a mad railer in Silver Brodie drawn directly on his outside. Kerrigan Bale has a brilliant turn of foot and she has recorded a 5.05 to the first marker here previously. Silver Brodie is much better than his recent form indicates and he may be worth a saver bet if he goes around at silly odds.

Top Four: 8 – 2 – 5 – 3
