Allen Malik has been a little disappointing of late but a lot of that can be put down to him not receiving any sort of luck in the early stages of his races. In his past six starts he has been knocked over soon after box rise and from there on he has had to overcome mid race to get into contention. Tonight's race doesn't appear to have a whole heap of early speed in it and that should allow him to get a little luck in the early stages. If he settle in the first two at the first bend his confidence will skyrocket and he will be running time on the bunny.

Turbine has the good draw and he has been racing in very consistent fashion. From the red he should be able to push through at the first bend and hold a forward spot and if Allen Malik finds bother early on he may just get away with the prize. Wise Ella has a top record over this trip and she is dropping back from Free For All class, he chances hinge on her ability to step cleanly and settle in the top two early. She is very unreliable but if she goes around at silly odds she is worth a saver bet.

7DYNA OSTRANDER (NSW)[5]21651NBTJ Hunt (Avalon)
10TWYCROFT BETTY [5]Res.15756NBTP Mullen (Cranbourne)

Kerrigan Bale is unbeaten in two tries here and if she reproduces her sizzling 29.48 PB run, it is very hard to see her being beaten. She has been a little hit or miss at box rise in recent times but the two times she has exited the red she has pinged the lids and led, so all the stats point to her. I would expect her to start around the $1.90 mark so it may be worth anchoring her in your exotic bets.

Senor Socks is making his metropolitan and 500m debut and I think he is an enormous risk. His box manners have let him down of late and he can't afford to make any mistakes tonight. Sisco Rage has been racing with limited luck of late and he should appreciate the drop in class. He was a recent finalist in the One Maturity Classic and he produced enormous heats in both his heat and Semi Final. Dyna Ostrander is a star in the making and he should play a major role if he can reproduce the effort which saw him win at Cranbourne in a 30.05 last week. He can take a few strides to get going but he has a notoriously slow beginner drawn on his outside so he should be afforded a clear run early.

Dyna Villa has won his past five starts in explosive fashion with the latest three being over this track and journey. In one of those wins he posted a blistering 5.02 to the first marker and a repeat of that would see him hold the early lead quite comfortably. In his first two starts he appeared to be very weak in the run home over this trip, however in his past couple of wins he appears to be getting stronger and stronger. He is a star of the future and if he steps cleanly he should make light work of these.

Gorham Bale showed his true talents with a brilliant 29.42 heat win on Sunday and he is always a chance in these types of races. The only knock on him though is that he can miss the kick at times and he likes to get out into the open spaces, he is going to be much better over the longer journey's but he is still a contender here. Fluke Of Fantasy has won five on end and he showed the extra distance wasn't a concern when scoring a handy 29.59 heat win. Obviously he would need to ping and lead to win but he does have the speed to talent to pull that off.

8TIGGERLONG AMIGO (NSW)[5]3116629.55(2)D Mcdonald (Devon Meadows)

Tiggerlong Amigo has the right draw and he should be able to make amends for some luckless efforts of late. From the pink draw he should get plenty of room in the early stages and he should find himself in the top two as they head through the first bend. He has a slick 29.55 PB over this trip but I think he is a much better chaser now and he can probably get down to the 29.40 mark.

Dynamo's Gift is an enormous talent and he put it all together at last start when he beat a gun field in 25.43. He pinged the lids on that occasion and if he can step like that again he should find himself in the top two or three in the early stages. Dyna Zod has been a little disappointing since winning a heat of the Group One Maturity Classic but he exits the same draw tonight so I would expect him to show improvement. Strange Wish is poorly drawn and down on confidence but he is a more than capable type when on song. If he goes around at silly odds he is worth an each way ticket.

8ALLEN ICARUS (NSW)[5]2522129.89(6)S Collins (Lara)

Open race to kick off the quaddie but I think Ollie Bale looks well placed in this company. Two starts ago he was beaten by less than four lengths behind gun sprinter and on that occasion he probably should have finished a little closer as he found bother in the early stages. He has recorded a sizzling 29.36 here previously and if he can get anywhere near that he will take a power of beating.

Dynamic Punch looms as the obvious danger based on his impressive 29.74 win here on Sunday. On that occasion he was slow to begin before he worked his way through the field and then powered to the line. From the red he should be able to hold a more forward spot early and he is capable of reeling off slick sectionals when given some clear galloping room. Check My Swagger has the speed to lead this event but his last 50m isn't the best part of his race. He has led for a long way in four of his past five runs here and he should be good enough to hold on for a place again. Kosi Can is back in form and he is capable of causing an upset if the more fancied runners find trouble.

8LIARA ALLEN (NSW)[5]17422NBTS Collins (Lara)

Quality affair and is probably a stronger race than what the Grand Final will actually be. After a quality set of heats it's hard to go past the champ Xylia Allen, after a steady beginning she balanced up behind the early leader Looby Lu and as they went off the back straight she went into overdrive. She is racing move like a genuine stayer at present and she is drawn to get a perfect sit again behind likely leaders Looby Lu and Mepunga Tiara. If you see $2.20 or better, open up the wallet and have a crack.

Dyna Willow has recorded three consecutive placings in her three runs back from a spell and she appears to be getting closer to her best with every run. She was far from disgraced in her heat and if she avoids early bother she will definitely put the pressure on Xylia Allen. Sweet It Is returned to racing with a powerful 42.12 heat win and she should be a lot better for that run as well. She is going to get a long way back as usual but she is the ultimate professional and she will make things interesting as they turn and head for the run home.

9BANJO BLITZ (NSW)[5]Res.74315NBTK Virtue (Tooradin)

Zipping Maggie is a highly promising stayer in the making and she should appreciate the massive drop in class from her recent racing. She has been settling a long way back in the early stages of late and I would expect her to show a little more early dash in this event. There isn't a lot of depth in this event and if she can get a trouble free run she should prove far too strong in the run home.

Shall She Rock hit the line strongly when scoring here recently in a smart 42.01 and a repeat of that effort would see her figure prominently again. She can be very hit or miss early but from box three she should be able to find the rails in the early stages and she produces her best when she can scrape the paint. Echelonic Action was far from disgraced when placed behind Xylia Allen here last week and he appeared to run the trip right out which was quite a surprise. If he can produce a similar effort tonight he may cause a bit of an upset. Unix Bale and Darbain Dasher both have poor form at present but they are more than capable and they must be included in all exotic bets.

7SOHO RHYTHM [4]2365129.64(7)A Hyde (Lara)
8GREAT SPARTACUS [4]1211629.58(7)K Bravo (Lovely Banks)

Tough race which will see gun sprinter Keybow go around at a very short quote but I think he is a massive risk tonight. The speedy and in form Quick Succession has been showing tremendous early pace in her races recently and she should carve up the favourite in the early stages and in the process she should get the fly as they head for the back straight. She has won three of five over this journey and her 29.46 PB suggests that she will prove very hard to run down when on the bunny.

Keybow clearly is a big chance but I wouldn't be willing to take odds on. He recently scored a powerful 29.43 win here and at his best he should be able to go at least sub 29.20. He is going to cop a fair bit of trouble early tonight and he will need a lot of things to go right mid race. Great Spartacus has the perfect draw and he has been racing in career best form of late. He has been showing a lot more early speed than normal of late and if he can settle in the top two he should make his presence felt.

8IBROX DIGGER (NSW)[5]32537NBTS Clarke (Tooradin)

My Jack Rabbit finally showed his best with a brilliant 34.24 win here on Sunday. After stepping cleanly he showed a great turn of speed and he had a clear lead as he passed the post the first time and he appeared to get further and further in front as they approached the finishing line. Tonight he has the luxury of a very quick beginner being drawn in the red and a fairly average beginner draw in the three, so that should allow him to get all the breaks in the early stages. This event isn't overly strong and if he reproduces last Sunday's performance he will take a power of beating.

Sign Of Snow has scored two highly impressive Geelong wins over 596m of late and on both occasions he has beaten some gun middle distance chasers. He has raced well here in the past and it appears that his confidence is sky high again. Miss Society is drawn to lead for a long way and she actually showed a little more strength when scoring here in 34.47 last week. Tonight's event is probably a little stronger but she should have built up a big enough lead to hold on for a place. Kayo Marciarno is the run on dog in the event and he is a great anchor for third and fourth in your exotic bets.

8WIND WHISTLER [5]5232329.63(7)A Langton (Anakie)

High quality grade 5 which has only three genuine winning chances but they are very hard to split. I've decided to go with the classy Duchess Bale, her record here isn't great but she has been racing in Free For All company for quite a while now. She hasn't experienced a lot of luck in recent months but she does have the ability to ping the lids and if she can land on the bunny she will be running some sort of time.

Wind Whistler has won four of seven over this trip and he has produced some enormous performances at The Meadows when competing in the Maturity Classic series recently. He gets a long way back in the early stages but once he gets out into open space he is capable of producing a blistering turn of speed. His chances hinge on him being able to get through the first bend relatively unscathed and if he does get that luck in running he will make a major impact. Dr. Don is the real up and comer in the event, he has scored some sizzling wins on the country circuit in his brief career and he should have no trouble taking on the stronger chasers. His early and middle sectionals will be brilliant and the only query may be the last 30m.

Astronomic appears to have found his WA form with two brilliant Meadows wins of late. Of the two wins, the latest one was the most impressive because he had to overcome a few difficulties in the early stages and he had to work very hard for victory. Once again he hasn't drawn too favourably but he has a heap of natural speed and there isn't a lot of speed drawn underneath him.

Conquer Fear is facing an enormous rise in class and he is going to be massive odds but I give him some hope of scoring. Last start at Sale he got polaxed early but he still hit the line hard and went down by less than two lengths. This is obviously a big test but he does have quite a few gears and he may surprise a few here. Lagoon Mytye and Dyna Geldof appear to be the other winning hopes.

Race 12 – 515M Grade 5 Heat – 10:52PM

Lektra Hawk hasn't experienced a lot of luck in his most recent racing and I would expect him to show a lot more improvement from the red draw. He has been slow to begin in recent times but he should be able to anticipate the start a lot better tonight and if he can hold them out he will prove very hard to reel in.

Grand Faith can be hit or miss early but he is capable of reeling off sizzling sectionals when he pings. There is a little bit of speed drawn on his outside but he has enough pace to hold them out and he has won here previously in a very slick 29.49. Dyna Yenite led for a long way here last week and he must be included in your exotic bets, whilst Pappa Galo has a very quick 29.45 PB over this trip and he is always thereabouts in these kind of races.

Top Four: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4
