Leg 1 – Wentworth Park – Race 7: Bessy Boo To Place $3.10
Bessy Boo is a super chaser and he is ultra reliable, the pink draw probably doesn't suit but if he can bomb the start, he should be able to drop onto the rail and settle around mid pack. He is extremely strong in the run home and he has terrific track sense, so he should be able to weave his way through the pack. He probably can't win the event but at $3.10 for the place he appears to be great value and a top three finish is quite likely with some luck in the first 50m.
Leg 2 – The Meadows – Race 8: Crackerjack Max To Place $2.10
Crackerjack Max is a fast beginner and from the two box he should have the speed to cross the red and find the rail in the early stages. His last 40m isn't the greatest but this track suits his racing pattern and he has won six of 26 here with a further 11 placings. This isn't the strongest Free For All, so, if he finds the top early, he should be able to get away mid race and he should be able to finish in the money.
Leg 3 – The Gardens – Race 1: Len's Pick To Place $1.53
Len's Pick is armed with blistering early speed and after a number of runs over the 400m journey she should be ready for the rise in distance. There isn't a lot of early speed engaged in the event and with a wide runner drawn on her outside, she should get plenty of room to drive through and assume control in the initial stages. She isn't overly strong and will probably need a run or two over this trip before she starts hitting the line but she will lead clearly and I would expect her to have enough in the tank to hold on for a place.
