Leg 1 – Ipswich – Race 5: Not Like Tommy To Place $2.38
Not Like Tommy is highly talented when on song and she turned in a big performance when placed here last week. She isn't blessed with brilliant early speed but there is good speed drawn in one and two and if they can step cleanly she should be able to drop in behind them early and get a nice sit. She really powered to the line in her heat and with a clear passage I think she is good enough to finish over the top of them in the run home. She is good value for the win but I think the place option is much safer for the multi.
Leg 2 – Ipswich – Race 6: String Quartet To Place $2.62
String Quartet is probably better suited to a wider draw, but I am expecting the red to show smart early speed and he should lead for a long way and with the red likely to scout wide through the corners, String Quartet should be able to drive through mid race. He is quite strong in the run to the line and he has a good record here, so with an ounce of luck he should be able to run a place at nice odds.
Leg 3 – Traralgon – Race 8: Neurological To Win $3
Neurological was desperately unlucky at Sandown Park on Thursday and tonight he finds himself in a very winnable race and I think he will continue to get better with more racing. He is normally a very reliable beginner and tonight's race features numerous slow beginners, so if he does everything right at box rise, he should be able to carve across to the early lead and I would expect him to prove too good for his opponents. He is currently good odds at $3.
