Two Codes took out the 1996 Launceston Cup, defeating Standby Thunder by two lengths to pick up the $12,000 first prize over the 522 metres trip. Zoom Fox, the 1995 winner, could only finish sixth.
Fond Regards defeated Bengina by just over four lengths with track specialist Stately Bird third in the 2000 National Derby, run over 520 metres at Wentworth Park. The Dave Irwin-trained greyhound ran 30.10 to set a new race record, taking 23/100ths off the previous best set by Hahn Bale in 1999. Fond Regards also set a new second sectional record of 13.89.

Hahn Bale upset the favourite, Queensland sprinter Faithful Hawk, to take out the 1999 National Derby at Wentworth Park, running 30.33 to set a race record, eclipsing he mark set by Indian Dance in 1994 at 30.50.
Late Angel Lee ran 29.57 in 2014 for the 520 metres trip at Albion Park to equal the track record set by Made To Size just over five years earlier.

Cedar's Dream downed Elizabeth Bay by six lengths in a fair 44.6 to take out the 1959 Wentworth Park Trophy, run over 790 yards.
Made To Size set a new track record for 520 metres at Albion Park in 2008, running 29.61 to eclipse the previous standard, held by NSW sprinter Pororoca at 29.66. Made To Size would lower the track standard even further the following December, to 29.57.

The Daryl Thomas-trained Royal Rumpus won the 1982 Australian Cup by three lengths from Spaetzel with Shamrock Flight a length away third. Royal Rumpus earned connections $30,000 for the victory.

After a two-year hiatus due to the Second World War, the 1946 Launceston Cup was resumed and fell to Ebon's Own who scored by half a length from Baldy Ruche and the Victorian Balkan Chief over the 525 yards distance.

The 1969 Australian Cup fell to NSW star Benjamin John who scored by six lengths from fellow NSW sprinter Tudor Valiant with Morjarro a further four lengths away third. Benjamin John earned $6,250 for the win.
China Trip won the first of what would be two consecutive Australian Cup's, in 1992. She led all the way from box two to score by a head from Buka Blitz, reversing the placings from their semi-final. Bomber Gleeson finished third.
Wolf Black won the 1997 Anniversary Cup, the last to be run over the 512 metres distance at Angle Park. The Group 3 event was worth $10,000 to the winner.

Rank outsider at 33/1 ($34.00), Pleasant Foam won the 1951 Hobart Thousand, the first major event to feature both a New Zealand and an English finalist. The New Zealander, Final Birch, finished second, beaten just a neck while the English import, Good Worker, was a head away third. Good Worker was domiciled in NSW. Favourite, Sharid, finished eighth of the nine starters after being badly checked when making a run. Pleasant Foam earned connection £1,200 ($2,400).
Black Cobra won the 2006 Dave Alexander Memorial, run over 520 metres at Wentworth Park, downing Jennifer Hawk by two and a half lengths with Dyna Celeste third.
