Wentworth Park Greyhounds Tips & Betting Preview April 26th 2014

Race 1 – 520M Grade 5 – 7:28PM

Tiger The Weapon is normally a reliable beginner and he looked very impressive in his 29.71 win recently. In late March he recorded a slick 5.36 first section when placed here, a repeat of that effort will see him lead clearly tonight.

Oxley Axeman is very hit or miss at box rise but when he hits he is capable of reeling off sizzling times, if he can step cleanly tonight he should be in the mix. Oblivious has loads of talent but the box draw tonight makes things very difficult.

Top Four: 2 – 4 – 6 – 8

Suggested Bet: Win bet on Tiger The Weapon

Race 2 – 520M Grade 5 – 7:49PM

Hope's Fancy is a very strong chaser who scored three brilliant middle distance wins on March. All of those wins came from middle draws so the middle pin tonight shouldn't be too much of a concern. She has won here in 29.78 previously and she should prove too good for these.

Triumphant One is expected to lead and if there is shuffling up at the first bend he may be able to pinch a winning break, his last 50 metres is always a big concern. Kobi Jay and Knot Telling Ya are the other winning hopes.

Top Four: 5 – 4 – 6 – 3

Suggested Bet: Trifecta 4,5/3,4,5,6/Field ($36 for $1)

Race 3 – 520M Mixed – 8:08PM

Tough race, there are two possible outcomes. Either Royal Sprite fires first up from a spell and gaps them or he is back to his unreliable ways and doesn't go a yard. I'm tipping him to fire. From box one he should be able to punch through at the first bend and lead throughout. If he can get close to his 29.67PB he should win convincingly.

Francois Dryva has won four of his past five in great style and he has a slow beginner drawn directly underneath. He should be able to settle near the speed and be a major player. Veteran Ritza Ryder is still racing in good form and can run a cheeky race.

Top Four: 1 – 3 – 6 – 8

Suggested Bet: Trifecta 1/3,6,8/Field ($18 for $1)

Race 4 – 720M Special Event – 8:27PM

After looking over last week's heats, the final looks to be a race in two. Suits Us and Avondale Maurick hit the line with only a half length separating them and they gapped the rest. The other heat was dominated by front runners who looked very weak in the run home. Avondale Maurick looks well placed in the eight box and I would expect him to settle fairly close to the speed, he should prove too strong for these.

Suits Us set a cracking pace in his heat and I would expect him to do the same tonight, I don't think he can hold out the favourite but he should give a good sight. Little Rum and Yellow Fever have place claims.

Top Four: 8 – 5 – 3 – 7

Suggested Bet: Win bet on Avondale Maurick.

Race 5 – 520M Special Event Heat – 8:50PM

Magic Display is coming off a luckless run in the One Final last week and she should appreciate the class drop. In her past three starts here she has broken 5.40 to the first marker, a repeat of that sees her lead all the way tonight.

Rue De Kahn is blessed with loads of talent but sometimes her box manners let her down. If she can avoid bother as they head into the first turn, she can make her presence felt. Rose Of Galo will settle on the speed, so she is a must for the exotics. Premier Mozz can run a big race at odds.

Top Four: 5 – 7 – 6 – 4

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 5/4,6,7/Field ($18 for $1)

Trifecta: 5,7/5,7/Field ($12 for $1)

Race 6 – 520M Special Event Heat – 9:12PM

returned to her brilliant best here last week with a scorching 29.47 win. Tonight she exits the coveted red draw which should allow her to punch through and hold the early lead again. Will be $1.60 or shorter but it is very hard to see her getting rolled.

My Kinda Music is a faultless beginner and she will be putting pressure on Ritza Hattie for the first 450m, she will tire in the run home but she should be able to hold on for the quinella spot. Zipping Summah is resuming from a lengthy spell, if fully wound up she will run a big race. Anchor Folk Tails for third and fourth in your exotics.

Top Four: 1 – 6 – 5 – 7

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 1/5,6,7/Field ($18 for $1)

Trifecta: 1/6/Field ($6 for $1)

Race 7 – 520M Special Event Heat – 9:35PM

The trained Quick Succession is making her debut but with slow beginners drawn either side she should have every chance to show her best form. She has scored some slick provincial wins of late and she gives the indication that the extra journey won't be a problem.

Irondale Bravo produced a big finish when runner up in last week Final. Tonight she meets a considerably weaker field and with some luck initially she will prove very hard to hold out. Chica Destacada is the only other winning hope, she would have to lead to win but she is blessed with loads of early speed.

Top Four: 2 – 3 – 7 – 1

Suggested Bets: Quick Succession to win, quinella with Irondale Bravo.

Race 8 – 520M Special Event Heat – 9:57PM

I think we can find some value in this heat. Crash Model is normally a and tonight if she can step cleanly she should have no trouble crossing to the early lead. On the she can run around the 29.85 mark and that should be enough to get the cash.

Zipping Willow is the clear class factor but the middle pin may pose a problem tonight. She can bomb the start at times and with early speed drawn outside she will need to do everything right. Stayer Eleazar should hit the line strongly and she must be included in your exotic bets. Lucy Lips appears to be the only other winning chance.

Top Four: 5 – 4 – 1 – 2

Suggested Bet: Each Way bet on Crash Model.

Race 9 – 520M Grade 5 – 10:17PM

This looks to be a between Waymore Blues and Zambora Magic. I am going to give the edge to Zambora Magic. After missing the kick here last week, he managed to recover and take ground off the brilliant Musquin Bale in the run home. If he can step cleanly tonight he should settle in the first two and be a major player.

Waymore Blues is highly talented but he has been very unreliable at box rise in recent times. There isn't a whole lot of early speed underneath so he should get every chance to muster speed initially. If both can step on terms, they should hit the line with very little separating them. Apollo Reign and Envy can run home in the minor end of the money.

Top Four: 6 – 5 – 8 – 4

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 6/5/Field ($6 for $1)

Trifecta: 5,6/5,6/Field ($12 for $1)

Trifecta: 6/4,5,8/4,5,8 ($6 for $1)

Race 10 – 520M Grade 5 – 10:37PM

Freddy Diesel has the favourable draw and he hit the line quite solidly when narrowly beaten here last week. From the red draw he should be able to settle in the first three and if he is that close he will prove too strong.

Magic Marlow has enough speed to burn to the lead and he will be setting a cracking pace in front. The last 50 is always a concern but if there is any trouble back in the field, he may just sneak away with the prize. Zipping Bruno has a big engine but he is poorly drawn tonight, place claims look best in this event.

Top Four: 1 – 8 – 7 – 4

Suggested Bet: Win bet on Freddy Diesel.

Quaddies

5/1/2,3,7/4,5 ($8 for $1)

4,5,6,7/1/2,3,7/4,5 ($24 for $1)
