Wentworth Park Greyhounds Tips & Betting Preview April 4th 2014 – Part Two

Race 6 – 520M Special Event Heat – 8:58PM

Easily the best race of the night with four highly exciting speedsters engaged. Hooksy trialled here last week and stopped the clock in a slick 29.68. His first sectional was fairly average, but he is sure to improve on that effort. With two slow beginners drawn outside, he should avoid early bother and prove far too strong. If you can find even money it looks to be a good bet.

Bottom Dollar is in good hands and if he has had a look at the track in private he should be highly competitive tonight. In his four wins to date he has shown explosive early speed and if he can anticipate the start tonight he should find himself in front again. This will be his first try at 520m which is a small concern. I think Hooksy will have his measure tonight, but look for this bloke in the future to turn the tables.

Invidious and Indian Light are the remaining two that have winning chances. Both look to be poorly drawn and for them to feature they will need everything to go their way.

Top Four:             3 – 2 – 8 – 5

Suggested Bet:

Trifecta: 2,3/2,3/1,4,8 ($6 for $1)

Trifecta: 3/1,2,4,8/1,2,4,8 ($12 for $1)

Race 7 – 520M Special Event Heat – 9:18PM

Silent Effective has looked super impressive in his five career wins to date and from the rails draw he should continue on his winning way. His box manners have been a small issue of late, but I expect him to anticipate the start a little better tonight. Fingers crossed he can ping out and hold the lead as it will be interesting to see what time he can run untouched.

Sir Redmond Was never headed last time at when scoring in 29.37. The track may have been a little fast, however that is still a fantastic run for a maiden at the time. If he can step cleanly he is sure to be in contention throughout, the only concern is that it is his first look at the track.

Remote Control looks to be the only other winning chance. He has won here in good time, but he has been bombing the start in recent runs. He can't afford to make any mistakes against these two speedsters.

Top Four:             1 – 3 – 4 – 6

Suggested Bet:

Trifecta: 1,3/1,3,4,/1,2,3,4,5,6 ($16 for $1)

Trifecta: 1/3/Field ($6 for $1)

Race 8 – 520M Special Event Heat – 9:36PM

My Kinda Music is expected to be short odds, but she is extremely hard to fault. She has won her past seven starts,  with two of them being in times at . Two weeks ago she pinged the lids here and ran 29.89 in her first try over 520m, so I expect her to improve on that time.

Waymore Blues is another reliable beginner and he is the only one that can worry this favourite. Last week he gapped a top field at hitting the line quite solidly, so the extra 70 metres shouldn't bother him too much.

Fusaichi Kahn comes here with strong form but he is a tad unlucky to be drawn into this heat. He is a little hit or miss early and he can't afford to make any mistakes at box rise here. Majestic Odessa may be the blowout chance if he can get across untouched.

Top Four:             7 – 5 – 8 – 3

Suggested Bet:

Trifecta: 7/5/2,3,4,6,8 ($5 for $1)

Trifecta: 7/3,5,8/2,3,4,5,6,8 ($15 for $1)

Race 9 – 520M Special Event Heat – 9:58PM

In a race with a few chances, I think the gun Victorian chaser Living Proof is drawn to feature. From box eight this striking black speedster should get every chance to muster pace early which will allow him to settle in the top two as they head through the first bend. He is resuming from a four month spell, but he is in good hands and he will be primed for a bold first up showing.

King Odessa has placed in five of his six tries over this track and journey and with his smart early speed he should be in the mix early. In his past couple of starts he has struggled in the run home but I think he will strip a little fitter tonight and he should be able to test the favourite.

Bojack Kahn has the talent and the draw, however he may get shuffled back in the early stages as he normally takes a few strides to muster speed.

Top Four:             8 – 3 – 1 -4

Suggested Bet:

Trifecta: 8/1,3,4/Field ($18 for $1)

Trifecta: 8/1,3,4/1,3,4 ($6 for $1)

Race 10 – 520M Special Event Heat – 10:18PM

In the final heat of the night we will once again see a short priced favourite. Shoulders caught the eye with a 29.73 win here last week from the same draw. I expect him to be $1.70 or shorter but he looks to be a good thing so it isn't worth taking him on tonight.

Bobby Blanco has shown ability to date but he has been very inconsistent. If he can reproduce his 29.45 win a month ago he will find himself in contention for most of the journey.

Velvet Flame was impressive here last week but she may get carved up in the early stages. Cawbourne Rev is resuming from a short spell and she must be respected at odds.

Top Four:             3 – 1 – 8 – 6

Suggested Bet:

Trifecta: 3/1,6,8/Field ($18 for $1)

Trifecta: 3/1,6,8/1,6,8 ($6 for $1)

With lots of trifectas recommended, it's a great chance to take advantage of the $100 in bonuses at Sportingbet for a $30 deposit.

Quaddies:

1,4,6,7,8/2,3/1,3/5,7 ($40 for $1)

1,4,6/2,3/1,3/5,7 ($24 for $1)

4/ 2,3/1,3/5,7 ($8 for $1)
