Wentworth Park Greyhounds Tips & Betting Preview April 5th 2014

Race 1 – 520M Golden Easter Egg Heat – 7:28PM

In the first heat it is hard to go past the classy and super consistent Dyna Nalin. Drawn perfectly and coming off a 29.65 solo trial here, he should get every chance to advance.

Allen Eryk has won four of his past five in great style and from his good draw he will get a clear run early. Dyna Nalin looks a good thing, but if Allen Eryk settles in front of him early, the favourite will have to work hard.

Fast Archer has a top record here but I don't think he can keep up with the one and the eight.

Top Four:             1 – 8 – 5 – 7

Suggested Bet:

Trifecta: 1,8/1,8/Field ($12 for $1)

Trifecta: 1/5,7,8/3,4,5,7,8 ($12 for $1)

Trifecta: 1/8/Field ($6 for $1)

Race 2 – 520M Golden Easter Egg Heat – 7:50PM

In what is a very tough race, I think we can find some value. Varcoe is a smart Tasmanian chaser who looks ideally drawn out in the eight box. Armed with early speed, he should assume control mid race and get the cash.

Yogi Blue scored a strong win here last month and at double figures he is worth an interest. Ritza Raider is perfectly drawn but the abundance of speed in this race may cause a problem.

Top Four:             8 – 5 – 1 – 4

Suggested Bet: Both Varcoe and Yogi Blue for the win, both should be value.

Race 3 – 520M Golden Easter Egg Heat – 8:07PM

The promising Rue De Kahn has taken all before her to date and with a record that shows three wins from five attempts at this track, she looks hard to go past. She is likely to be fairly short but she should lead from go to whoa.

Easton Bale returned to form at last start and he has a tendency to run big races at big odds. Look for Gradence to be steaming home late, include in exotics for third and fourth.

Top Four:             1 – 5 – 2 – 4

Suggested Bet:

Trifecta: 1/2,4,5/Field ($18 for $1)

First Four: 1/Field/2/Field ($42 for $1)

First Four: 1/Field/Field/2 ($42 for $1)

Race 4 – 520M Golden Easter Egg Heat – 8:28PM

Mexico City meets some stiff competition, however from box one, he should pounce on the early lead and from there on he will keep his competition under extreme pressure. Although he doesn't run a true 500 metres, I think he should build up a big enough break.

Warrior King has got plenty of gears but from the middle pin he faces a very stiff task. I expect him to go around as the favourite and he is a big lay tonight. Crawf's Bread has early speed and must be respected at odds.

Top Four:             1 – 6 – 2 – 5

Suggested Bet: Mexico City to win, also rove in quinellas with 2,5,6.

Race 5 – 520M Golden Easter Egg Heat – 8:50PM

In what is another tough heat, is likely to start short odds but I think he may be a risk. Tomac Bale is much better than his recent runs suggest and from box eight he should get every chance to show his best form.

Frosty Jay Jay musters pace at a great rate and with a slow beginner drawn outside he should find himself in contention as they head through the first bend. Keybow is the class act, however there is a lot of speed in this race and he may get shuffled back early.

Top Four:             8 – 6 – 5 – 2

Suggested Bet: Win bets on Tomac Bale and Frosty Jay Jay

Race 6: 520M Golden Easter Egg Heat – 9:07PM

Boris Fields is notorious for going at box rise, this means that There's A Earn should get a great cart across in the early stages. Recently he set the track alight with a 29.80 Meadows win and I think he can repeat the dose tonight.

has a good record here and she can run crazy times on her night but her box manners aren't the greatest. She is capable of winning but I wouldn't be rushing to take the short odds. Double Trigger must be considered also.

Top Four:             6 – 4 – 5 – 3

Suggested Bet: There's A Earn for the win, rove in quinellas with 3,4,5.

Race 7 – 520M Golden Easter Egg Heat – 9:30PM

Innocent Til is the most reliable chaser in the race and based on his past three metro wins he should figure prominently again. He should be around the $2.50 mark and I think he may be the best bet of the night.

and Boyce Road are both capable of running ridiculous times but both have poor box manners and are likely to find lots of bother in running. Fort Allen has enough speed to settle near the lead and he must be included in the exotics.

Top Four:             8 – 6 – 5 -4

Suggested Bet: If you can find better than $2.50 for innocent Til, load up at Sportsbet with the $250 free bet!!

Race 8 -520M Golden Easter Egg Heat – 9:50PM

is perched in his favourite draw and if he can reproduce his 29.57 win here in March he should lead throughout again. It's a pretty strong race so you might be able to get $3.00 or better.

Buckle Up Wes recently captured the and he has won three of his five tries here. Normally a reliable beginner, he should pose the biggest threat to Tonk. Crump will need to improve on his 29.85 trial effort here.

Top Four:             1 – 3 – 4 – 8

Suggested Bet: Tonk for the win, drawn to get every chance.

Race 9 – 520M Golden Easter Egg Heat – 10:12PM

Red Road will be very short and I think he might be one to take on. Magic Display caught my eye when placed here last week. Armed with early speed, she should cross to the early lead and give them something to catch at odds.

Calm Model can also ping the lids in her races and she should figure prominently throughout. Red Road clearly has plenty on these but from box six he will need all the breaks.

Top Four:             3 – 5 – 1 – 6

Suggested Bet:

Trifecta: 1,3,5/1,3,5,6/1,2,3,4,5,6 ($36 for $1)

Race 10 – 520M Golden Easter Egg Heat – 10:35PM

Aiming for six wins in a row, it is hard to look past the perfectly drawn Hellyeah Bolt. He overcame big difficulties to score here last week and I think tonight will be an easier assignment.

Ritza Ryder has a top record at this journey and from this draw, if he can step a little better tonight he will find himself in the firing line throughout. Empire Allen has been disappointing of late, but he may run an improved race at odds.

Top Four:             8 – 1 – 6 – 4

Suggested Bet:

Trifecta: 8/1,4,6/Field ($18 for $1)

Trifecta: 1,8/1,8/Field ($12 for $1)

Quaddies

2,4,5,6,8/5,6/8/1,3 ($20 for $1)

4,6,8/2,3,5,6/8/1,3 ($24 for $1)

8/2,3,5,6/2,5,6,8/1,3 ($32 for $1)
