Wentworth Park Greyhounds Tips & Betting Preview July 25th 2014

If you have taken advantage of Centrebet's $200 free bet, then load up with the $700 free bet at Sportingbet. Huge value to be had if you fancy a bet on the dogs. Both of these corporate bookmakers are running weekly Greyhound promotions.

Race 1 – 520M Grade 5 Final – 7:17PM

Very open affair to kickstart the night, but I think the strong Big Gee Eye has the favourable draw and he has winning experience at the track in a handy 30.12. He meets a field which has a number of runners who are suspect at running out the trip and if he can get some luck as they head through the first bend, he will surely make his presence felt.

Remember Ross is another with handy 500m form and he really hit the line strongly when winning at in 25.44. He can be a little slow to begin, but he should be able to find the rails early on and will make his move mid-race. Pure Arrogance is an explosive beginner and will lead for a long way. He had first try at this trip last week and he folded up very quickly, but he will be much better for that effort and should hit the line a little stronger.

Top Four: 8 – 4 – 3 – 6

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Big Gee Eye

Boxed Quinella: 3,4,6,8 ($6 for 100%)

Trifecta: 4,6,8/3,4,6,8/3,4,5,6,8 ($27 for 100%)

Race 2 – 520M Grade 5 Final – 7:40PM

Billy Bowlegs put it all together at last week when scoring in a slick 29.78 and if he can get away cleanly he should make light work of this lot. He can make a lot of mistakes in his races but has raced here previously and appears to be getting better and better with every run. He can make a lot of mistakes in his races, so he's only worth backing if you can get $2.50 or better.

How's It Rude has scored two impressive Dapto wins in her brief career and should make a big impact in her metro debut. Since going back to back at Dapto she has encountered two luckless runs and she gets her chance to improve from the red draw tonight. Midnight Ripple has broken 30 seconds here on two occasions and if she can gain an ounce of luck early she should be in the finish. She has been missing the kick of late but is much better than that and can improve tonight.

Top Four: 8 – 1 – 6 – 2

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 1,6,8/1,6,8/1,2,3,6,8 ($18 for 100%)

Boxed Exacta: 1,6,8 ($6 for 100%)

Race 3 – 520M Grade 5 Final – 7:58PM

Gut Wrenching can be very hit or miss at boxrise, but when she steps cleanly she can be brilliant. In late June she pinged the lids and scored a slick 29.91 win here and a reproduction of that performance would most likely put a space in this field, however last week she also showed that she can win her races by coming from off the speed.

Miss Pocano is aiming for a hat-trick of wins and she looks the obvious danger, last week when having her first look at the track she handled herself well and scored an impressive 30.08 win and prior to that she posted a top Dapto win from a wide draw. She has slow beginners drawn either side and that should allow her to get a clear run in the early stages.

Top Four: 2 – 7 – 3 – 8

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Gut Wrenching

Trifecta: 2,7/2,7/Field ($12 for 100%)

Quinella: 2 to rove with 3,7,8 ($3 for 100%)

Race 4 – 520M Mixed 3/4 – 8:17PM

Very tough race but I think the high promising Lochinvar Impact can get the job done. In recent times he has scored two sizzling wins here, but his last start placing has probably been his most impressive effort. On that occasion he showed good early speed and he went down by less than two lengths to up and coming star Tommy Brislane. He has a railer drawn directly underneath tonight and that should allow him to get a clear passage as they head into the first bend.

Push It has been a little disappointing of late but she returns to her favourite track and if she pings the lids like she normally does she will prove hard to reel in. She has just been lacking confidence and with little speed drawn underneath she should get a clear run early and that will allow her to regain some confidence. Raincheck has the good draw and prior to his last start defeat he had been racing in great style at this venue. From the red he should get a nice sit mid race and is quite strong to the line.

Top Four: 6 – 5 – 1 – 4

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Lochinvar Impact

Exacta: 5,6/1,4,5,6 ($6 for 100%)

Trifecta: 5,6/5,6/Field ($12 for 100%)

Trifecta: 1,6/1,6/Field ($12 for 100%)

Race 5 – 520M Grade 5 – 8:40PM

Very even race but I think the early pace of Maria's Impact will be the key to the race. In her two recent wins here she went sub 5.40 on both occasions and a repeat of that would see her find the lead quite easily. She isn't known for being overly strong but she has recorded 29.85 in one of her victories and that time would see her win this event.

Queen Charlie is the interesting runner, she experienced no luck at all when making her debut here last week but prior to that she had scored some and wins. She will be much better for the experience last week and if she steps cleanly she will make Maria's Impact work hard for victory. Shanlyn Patch is the only other winning hope. He is ideally drawn out wide and his two wins here have been sub 30 seconds. He doesn't have the early brilliance of the other two, but will be quite strong in the run to the line.

Top Four: 3 – 4 – 7 – 1

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 3,4,7/3,4,7/1,3,4,6,7,8 ($24 for 100%)

Exacta: 3,4/1,3,4,7 ($6 for 100%)

Boxed Quinella: 3,4,7 ($3 for 100%)

Race 6 – 520M Non Graded – 8:58PM

Lucy Lobster made her metro debut here last week and really caught the eye with a smart 30.15 victory. That victory gave her a hat trick of wins and she looks like she should have no trouble progressing through the grades. This is a pretty weak event and if she can step on terms she should have sufficient speed to lead and continue on her winning way.

Katie Oi Oi could be the one to cause a boilover. She is normally a reliable beginner and from the red draw she should be able to punch through at the first bend and make the favourite work hard for victory. Elite Arena is the run on dog in the event. She has been racing in great form at Bathurst recently and has a strong record from wide draws. Midnight Rush has loads of talent and he needs to be included in all your exotic bets.

Top Four: 5 – 1 – 8 -2

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 1,5/1,2,5,8/1,2,5,6,7,8 ($24 for 100%)

Exacta: 1,5/1,2,5,8 ($6 for 100%)

Race 7 – 520M Non Graded – 9:17PM

There looks to be only three genuine winning chances and they are all drawn inside. Recruitment is an exciting prospect and he looked super impressive when scoring here last week by more than 10 lengths in a smart 30.07. In his brief career he has won four races and amazingly his smallest winning margin has been eight lengths, so he either wins big or loses big. Tonight I'm going with win big. Tautology, who is drawn on his outside, likes to get wide in his races so that should allow him to get a clear passage into the first turn.

Stylish Jenmar has the gun draw and she scored a sizzling 29.82 win here in June. She is a little hit or miss early, but if she can get away on terms she should be right in the mix throughout. Tautology scored a strong 29.95 win here last week and in the process he beat the in form Billy Bowlegs. He is still learning and tends to make a few mistakes but if he is given room in the initial stages he will make an impact.

Top Four: 2 – 1 – 3 – 8

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 1,2,3/1,2,3/1,2,3,6,7,8 ($24 for 100%)

Trifecta: 2/1,3,8/Field ($18 for 100%)

Exacta: 1,2/1,2,3,8 ($6 for 100%)

Boxed quinella: 1,2,3 ($3 for 100%)

Race 8 – 520M Non Graded – 9:40PM

Glad Bag scored a convincing 30.93 win last week and appears to be getting better with every run. The wide draw should suit him and he takes on a pretty weak line-up. The only concern is that he is having his first look at the track and will need a lot of luck as they head into the first bend. There isn't a whole heap of early speed drawn underneath him, so he should get every chance to balance up and attack the first turn.

Mohawk Kool looks to be the clear danger, she turned in a big performance when narrowly beaten here a fortnight ago and as I stated earlier, this is a very weak race so she gets her chance. The middle pin is definitely a disadvantage, but she is good enough to overcome it. Low Call has the coveted rails draw and she appears to be the only other winning hope. She has a poor record here but is more than capable when .

Top Four: 8 – 5 – 1 – 3

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Glad Bag

Trifecta: 1,5,8/1,5,8/1,2,3,5,7,8 ($24 for 100%)

Exacta: 1,5,8/1,3,5,8 ($9 for 100%)

Race 9 – 520M Mixed 4/5 – 9:58PM

Decastella has come up with her favourite draw and I think she can roll the favourite Kool Larocca. Three starts ago she scored a strong 30.09 win here from this draw and a repeat of that effort should see her in the finish again. Her last run is a bit of a concern as she finished well down the track, however if she is 100% fit I'm confident she can get the job done.

Kool Larocca will start a short-priced favourite and although he is a winning chance, I'm not totally convinced. He was a solid winner here last week, but did miss the kick and was stopping quickly in the home straight. He has a bit of speed drawn directly outside tonight, so he will need to do everything right at boxrise. Permanent Guest is the smokey in the event. He has recorded two strong placings here in recent weeks and they have been in strong company. If he can get some luck in the early stages he won't be far away at the business end.

Top Four: 1 – 7 – 2 – 4

Suggested Bets:

Win bets on Decastella and Permanent Guest

Boxed Quinella: 1,2,4,7 ($6 for 100%)

Exacta: 1,7/1,2,4,7 ($6 for 100%)

Race 10 – 520M Grade 5 – 10:17PM

Although she was reeled in late last start, Paula Dawn really caught my eye and I think she can register another victory tonight. After pinging the lids she recorded some very slick sectionals and it took the strong Watto Lotto a long time to get to her and he didn't exactly rip away from her in the straight. I would expect her to lead again tonight and there doesn't appear to be anything overly strong in this event.

is a very hard dog to follow but he is quite brilliant when switched on. If he can ping the lids tonight and settle in the top two he will probably get the cash, however his box manners aren't great and it's hard to tip him with any confidence. If he goes round at silly odds its worth taking the risk and backing him. Dancer is a reliable beginner and is never far away in this type of class. I don't think she can win but she can hold on for a place.

Top Four: 2 – 5 – 3 – 4

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 2,5/2,3,4,5/1,2,3,4,5,7 ($24 for 100%)

Exacta: 2,5/2,3,4,5 ($6 for 100%)

Boxed Quinella: 2,3,5 ($3 for 100%)

Quaddie

Leg 1: 3,4,7
Leg 2: 1,2,5,8
Leg 3: 1,2,3
Leg 4: 1,5,8

$108 for 100%
