Laurels Classic Winner Awarded June Greyhound Of The Month

's for June 2010 is young Victoria sprinter C'est La Vie. In June the talented Red Fawn youngster won three from three making a clean sweep of the 1 Hawkins Laurels.

Beautifully prepared by leading Victorian mentor Robert Britton she has always shown a liking for the Lightwood Road circuit at from six starts she has four wins and two placings. Her Laurels campaign commenced on June 13 with an all the way win, clocking 29.91 to down the talented High.

In her semi final on June 17 she again led all the way to beat Geisha Bale in 30.12 like in the heat her early section set the race up with a fast 5.15 she had recorded 5.14 on the Sunday.

In the final C'est La Vie ($9.70) made it a one act affair against a quality field of young female chasers After again showing her customary early speed (5.14) from the white box, C'est La Vie led the Laurels field a merry dance on her way to a memorable Laurels victory.

The field strung out going down the back straight as Cara Bale began to push through along the fence to launch her assault on the leading runner. However, C'est La Vie had established a winning break and while a gallant Cara Bale managed to close the margin to three quarters of a length, she never really looked a winning chance in the closing stages. Time for the Classic was 30.08.

C'est La Vie is raced by the Two Syndicate and trained by Robert Britton at Lara in Victoria. She is a Red Fawn bitch by Cool Performance from Flipper (Awesome Assassin x Mabilis Babe). C'est La Vie has won eight of her 19 starts and has been placed on four occasions her current stake earnings stand at $66,995.

June saw a number of group races decided. C'est La Vie beat winner Nellie Noodles also trained by and winners Franklin Style, Big Bunga, Tuiaki, and Pedrosa for the monthly award.
