Transcend Time Named Australia’s Best Greyhound For September 2012

’s for September 2012 is brilliant young New South Wales sprinter Transcend Time. He is raced by Tyrone Whittington and is trained by . Transcend Time has raced 13 times for eight wins and three placings include an outstanding performance to win the Group 2 Bob Payne Spring Stake at in Sydney last Saturday night. His efforts in September earned him the Greyhound of the Month award.

Transcend Time who only started racing in late June this year has emerged as one of Australia’s newest sprinting stars. He had his first city start at Wentworth Park on the 10th of August with a third. Then followed up with three wins on the trot at Headquarters, two in August in 30.26 and 30.36. He then stepping out on September 8 recorded his first sub 30 win at Wenty with a 29.97 win over Bit Isolated. The following week he finished second to Free Will before qualifying for the Bob Payne Spring Stake with a solid second behind Penetrator.

Transcend Time made a one act affair of Saturday night’s Group 2 final, careering away with the $40,000 first prize in 29.83.

Continuing what’s been a marvelous 2012 for trainer Mark Azzopardi, the well-bred Transcend Time began well from box eight on Saturday night, railing underneath Leeroy Rocker as the field headed through the catching pen for the first time before running away with victory.

Runner-up Mr. Clydesdale made up good ground to finish second 4 ½ lengths adrift, with early leader Leeroy Rocker third. All praise went the way of the winner, offsetting box eight when many form students believed it to be a task too much given the amount of speed drawn underneath him.

Transcend Time appears to have a big future in front of him given his inexperience and the fact he has already mixed it with some of the best in his home state.

The brindle flyer may have even run himself into Top Gun calculations time will tell on that front in the next cou-ple of weeks. His preferred option is more than likely the age restricted Group 1 Vic Peters Classic conducted at Wentworth Park on October 20, 27 and November 3rd. One thing is for sure he looks the real deal at the per-fect time of the year.

Transcend Time is a Brindle dog whelped October 2010 by from (Elite State x Oriental Angel) Transcend Time is raced by Tyrone Whittington and trained by Mark Azzopardi and he has raced 13 times for nine wins and three placings. His stake earnings stand at $59,350.

The month of September saw eight group races decided. Transcend Time beat Group 2 winner Bye Bye Bucks and Group 3 winners Bralyn Midge, Spud Regis, Dark Assassin, Know Peace, Hope’s Up and Mepunga Geor-die for the monthly award.

AGRA congratulates owner Tyrone Whittington, trainer Mark Azzopardi plus Transcend Time on being awarded the AGRA Greyhound of the Month for September 2012.
