Ladbrokes Irish Greyhound Derby Heats Up As It Reaches The Quarter Final Stage

The Ladbrokes Irish Greyhound Derby reaches the Quarter Final stages this weekend. Following the withdrawal of Stay Thirsty, 23 of Ireland’s top Greyhounds will run in the 4 Quarter-Finals this Saturday, 25th August, at Shelbourne Park.

Following the Third Round action, Kerry Greyhound Ballymac Vic, owned, trained and bred by Liam Dowling, continues to top the betting odds with sponsors, Ladbrokes, having won his heat in 29.44. A number of high profile names exited last weekend, including Michéal O’Muircheartaigh’s Razldazl Rioga, Sparta Maestro and Cabra Millie.

The Ladbrokes Irish Greyhound Derby offers over €225,000 in Prizemoney, with €120,000 and a trophy to the winner. The classic, which is the highlight of the Irish Greyhound Racing calendar, celebrates it’s 80th anniversary this year.

The heats for the Ladbrokes Irish Greyhound Derby are as follows:
Quarter- Finals: Saturday 25th August
Semi- Finals: Saturday 1st September
Ladbrokes Irish Greyhound Derby Final: Saturday 8th September
