Coonamble Combatants Face 3 Months On Sidelines

The NSW GHRRA have today announced that “stewards finalised an Inquiry into an incident, that occurred at the Coonamble Greyhound Race Meeting, on 29 March, 2008, involving Shane Stiff and Charles Hughes”.
The CEO of NSW GHRRA has announced that “evidence at the Inquiry revealed that Shane Stiff and Charles Hughes became involved in a physical and verbal altercation during the race meeting in a public area”.
“After consideration of all evidence, both Shane Stiff and Charles Hughes were charged and
pleaded Guilty to a breach of Rule 86(o).”
After careful consideration of penalty, Stewards imposed the following:
- Shane Stiff suspended for three (3) months, effective 27 May, 2008
- Charles Hughes suspended for three (3) months, effective 27 May, 2008
Shane Stiff has since appealed the Stewards’ decision and a Stay of Proceedings has been
granted until the Appeal is heard.
