Dailly and Lord dominate Ladies Bracelet heats

TEAM Dailly made yet another successful trip to on Saturday night, this time for the heats of the Ladies Bracelet over 520-metres.

The powerful Victorian kennel three through to next Saturday's $25,000-to-the-winner final which is run each year in the lead up to Mother's Day and is open to members of the fairer sex.

The first heat saw Dailly's speedster Dyna Nico (box four) burn to the lead in the early stages after a fair beginning, showing too much class for her opposition when scoring in 29.95. A member of the hot High Earner x Maple Bale litter, the brindle bitch has now won three of her last five races, while she also placed third behind in the Golden Easter Egg three starts back. Consistent local Star Torana (box two) ran a gallant second for trainer Shaun Evans and by doing so booked her spot in next week's decider.

2014 winner Rue De Kahn started the punters elect in the second heat from box eight, but couldn't quite cross from the wide draw with track specialist Queen Esther (box two) punching up to assume the lead around the first turn. Noelene Holloway's grand campaigner led the field easily going into the back, but Victorian raider Elfen Bale (box four) was parked right behind her and started working home strongly, taking the lead in the run to the line to score by a head in 29.90. Elfen Bale is a daughter of Kelsos Fusileer and Chloe Allen, making her a litter sister to boom sprinter Fernando Bale, and she has now won eight from 19 for Dailly with a further eight minor placings.

In the third heat, everyone wanted to be on Kerrigan Bale (box four) to see if the Dailly's luck could continue, but the consistent chaser found plenty of trouble and was shuffled back in the early stages. The mix-up left Pearl Blonde (box five) high-balling out in front and looking the winner down the back, but it was (box one) which put in a massive performance to steal top honours. Navigating her way from the middle of the pack, the tenacious daughter of Spring Gun and Agent Gibbs hooked to the outside of the leader around the home turn, charging down the centre of the track to triumph in a moderate 30.43. Pearl Blonde hung on for second and will also take her place in next week's final.

The fourth and final qualifier was a pretty open affair, with punters settling on National Sprint Champion Chica Destacada to land the cash from the pink. Despite beginning brilliantly, the black bitch was unable to match motors with Uno Suzie (box one) heading into the back, with the rails runner dashing clear. 's Spring Leaf railed beautifully to claim second position as Chica Destacada faded, but Uno Suzie was too far in front and cruised to the line to record a three length triumph in a hot 29.76. Trained by , Uno Suzie has now won 12 of her 31 career starts with another 12 minor placings.
