Swan Gets Nine Months For Tamworth Indiscretion

An altercation with the owners of a greyhound trained by him, has cost New South Wales greyhound trainer a nine month disqualification.

New South Wales have recently concluded an in to the circumstances that occurred at the Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 11th April 2009.

On the day in question Swan had his runner Kell's Hero engaged to run in Race 5, the Cool Mat @ Stud 4th grade stake over 402 metres from seven.

Unfortunately Kell's Hero, who was also Swan's only runner for the day was a late scratching at .

That scratching led to a confrontation between Swan and the greyhound's owners, Dean Bard and Jamie Applekamp.

At the inquiry GHRRA Stewards, after consideration of all the evidence, charged Mr. Swan with two(2) breaches of Rule 86(o) for .

David Swan pleaded guilty on both counts.

After careful consideration on the matter of penalty, GHRRA Stewards disqualified Mr. Swan for a period of nine(9) months from 6 May 2009 to be served concurrently.

Mr. Swan was advised of his rights of Appeal.

The greyhound Kell's Hero has been transferred to the kennels of greyhound trainner William Davies.
