Goodesy And Budapest Book Spots In 2010 Golden Easter Egg Heats
Written By Chris McKay, NSW GBOTA Greyhound Racing Correspondent Wednesday 3rd March 2010

Goodesy and Budapest were emphatic winners of the two Preludes held last Saturday and now gain Priority Entry into the heats (if nominated and eligible) of the $250,000 Macro Meats Golden Easter Egg to be run on Saturday March 20.
The second and final round of Preludes are programmed for this coming Saturday March 6. Two strong preludes are drawn.
Goodesy trained by John Finn was a short priced favourite ($1.40) from the eight alley and after a good beginning out wide and out of trouble worked into the race to be second mid race chasing hard behind the bold leader Direct Jolie for Mark Arncliffe . Goodesy surged to the front in the straight to win by 1 ¾ lengths in 30.27. Direct Jolie was gallant in defeat.
The winner is an exciting racer and will fly the flag high for NSW in the contest for the $250,000 winner’s cheque on offer in the Macro Meats Golden Easter Egg Final.
Budapest in the astute hands of Brian McKivat won well, defeating Neville Brown’s Tuiaki which ran favourite at ($1.80) but never looked likely to steal the winner’s cheque away from Budapest after racing wide and getting back in the field, eventually finishing second beaten by 4 ¾ lengths in 30.14.
