Hooksy Steals The Show In New Sensation Final

The Three final was all over in a matter of seconds last night, as $1.60 favourite Hooksy didn't disappoint the large crowd, recording a sizzling 29.36.

Exiting from box three for the third consecutive time, the son of Hondo Black and caught the eye of enthusiasts after his outstanding heat win, where he clocked a 29.44. One week later the Tanya Auld trained chaser was too good once again in 29.57, saluting by twelve and three quarter lengths.

The 36kg heavyweight stepped beautifully from the boxes and resisted early pressure from second favourite My Kinda Music, to lead comfortably at the first turn and record sectionals of 5.36 and 17.67. Hooksy then streaked away at the finish by seven and a half lengths over 's Irondale Bravo, with My Kinda Music for Alan Pringle finishing in third position.

Hooksy's best of the night performance was simply breath-taking and takes his career statistics to an impressive twelve wins from seventeen starts with four minor placings, and a healthy prizemoney total of $60,430.
