Hooksy To Deliver Another Blow In New Sensation Semi Finals

Four semi-finals of the Three New Sensation will be run and won this night at Wentworth Park after some notable performance in each of the seven heats conducted last week.

Hooksy received enormous support from the media and punters on Friday night, starting at just $1.90 and recorded best of the night figures in 29.44.

Semi-Final One:

Regally bred runner Fusaichi Kahn (1) was superb on debut at Wentworth Park last week after making the trip down south with trainer . The son of Where's Pedro and Daydream stepped beautifully from box three and was never headed in a dominate display, clocking 29.71.

's Raincheck is the other runner in this semi to have saluted last week. Starting at healthy odds, the son of Cosmic Rumble outlasted the fast finishing Zola Icon to salute in 30.21. Red hot favourite Shoulders stumbled out of the boxes last week, but managed to finish fourth and will get a second chance this week from box two for trainer .

Semi-Final Two:

Boom youngster Silent Effective (2) recorded his fourth consecutive win last week from just five starts and sizzled around the 520m circuit in 29.54. The Darren Sultana trained son of Cosmic Rumble and Best Percentage caught the eye of enthusiasts at start number two, when he clocked a near 24.93 over the 450m at .

Lacey Lois (1) has been very consistent of late for trainer , recording her second win at Wentworth Park in a time of 30.27. The daughter of Superman and Naughty Nicki has come up with the red rug in this semi and has been beginning consistently well. Secret Shot (3) has finished second at his past three outings and battled on gamely behind Fusaichi Kahn, clocking 30.17.

Semi-Final Three:

My Boy Snoop (1) has a speedy personal best at Wentworth Park of 29.81, has drawn perfectly in box one and is primed for a big performance. The Anthony Azzopardi trained chaser was gallant in defeat last week behind Silent Effective and can trouble this field with a clear run.

Velvet Flame (3) recorded her third consecutive win last week, leading all the way from box two in a solid 29.97. Trained by Andrew Bayliss, the daughter of Collision and Perfect Model will exit from the three alley once again and has been faultless at box rise. Cawbourne Whip (6) returned to the winner's circle on Friday, scoring an impressive win over her rivals in 30.12. The trained chaser has a good record from the outside boxes and will definitely improve this week.

Semi-Final Four:

Superstar prodigy Hooksy (3) will step out in the final heat of the night and lived up to the great expectations placed on him last week, saluting comfortably by thirteen and three quarter lengths in a best of the night time of 29.44. The son of Hondo Black and Uno Witch trained by Tanya Auld recorded his fifth consecutive win last Friday and will be very hard to beat from a favourable box draw.

Zola Icon (8) found the line strongly last week behind Raincheck and has an excellent record from box eight. The Robert Sullivan trained chaser only needs a clear run to secure a finals spot and can be competitive if the favourite finds trouble.

King Oddessa (1) is a model of consistency, finishing second for the fourth consecutive time last week and has drawn perfectly in box one to run another bold race. The son of Where's Pedro and Supreme Odessa is trained by Kristy Sultana and has good early pace and an excellent Wentworth Park record of two wins and four minor placings from seven starts.

Semi-final one will kick off at 8.36pm, with the first and second placegetters moving through to next week's Group Three $25,000 to the winner final.
