It’s My Life Continues Winning Ways At Casino Greyhounds

Promising youngster It's My Life continued her winning run with a fast 22.91 victory at last Friday.

A winner at four of her last five starts, the daughter of Cool began smartly along with the well performed Sid Rose Hi. They went together for the first half of the race, before It's My Life took over and broke away. On the line she defeated her opponent by 3 1/2 lengths.

Stratheden mentor puts the polish on her, and he has placed her to perfection in her sequence of wins.

Pitch Blue Chief appreciated the drop back from Free For All company to take out the Westlawn Finance stake. Clearly the fastest runner in the event, with a near record 22.79 win to his credit, he got to the lead in the back section and raced away to win by 3 1/4 lengths in 23.03. He has the fine record of fouteen wins from only 35 starts and although nearing four years of age, he is still racing with great zest.

The annual ” Bluey” Leis Memorial race was run on the day with the victory going to the strong stayer Miss Jersey. She has been racing in top grade in Brisbane and coming into a 4th and 5th grade at Casino, looked well placed. Bralyn Sal made all of the early running, but the trained Miss Jersey was too powerful over the concluding stages to score by 3 1/4 lengths in a handy 35.61. A beautiful trophy donated by Bluey's daughter, and the $1000 plus prize money would have made the trip home to Murwillumbah a comfortable one.

Five heats of the Blue Paws trophy were run with the fastest qualifier being the Mavis Wilkinson owned, and trained, Hayden's Run. He scooted over the 484 metres in a fast 27.09. Next fastest was Trevor Thompson's Halie Rose Hi who ran 27.46. She used box one to full advantage by railing through at the first bend.

Surfer Richie made a long and run from midfield to run 27.51 for Garry Cluss, whilst Hillcrest Gwen took over at the catching pen and ran 27.59 for Charlie Northfield. Teddy To Go rounded off the heats for Ron Mc Calman, clocking 27.62 in a 5 3/4 length win.

won the opening race at last Thursday and continued that form with Genista Gem taking out the opening maiden in 23.42, while the other maiden went to Tah Bella who ran 23.51 for Steve Casey. He kicked away in the back to score by 1 3/4 lengths.

Charlie Northfield made it two winners on the day when Kingsbrae Sam railed to perfection to salute in 23.03, whilst Belle's Nightmare took out the lucky last in 23.15 for .
