Local Favourite Win Lesley Ann Leonard Memorial

The Dubbo Greyhound Club held a successful 11-race card on Saturday afternoon with the highlight being the final of the Lesley Ann Leonard Memorial.
The 20th running of the time-honoured race was won by favourite Little James for Cowra trainer Pam Braddon.
Little James was quick to begin from the two box to set up a winning break and the result was never in doubt scoring by a hollow 13-length margin when the judge called a halt.
The Alan Cleary-trained Marama Sue and the Bobby Hodges sprinter Amethyste finished second and third respectively.
The Ausure Insurance Brokers feature was won by local greyhound Baroda Pearl.
Don Ronneberg-trained flyer began like a shot from box eight to defeat a handy field and qualify for the final worth $1500 at Maitland on November 6.
Coonamble greyhound Winiona Gold created a big impression when a smart 30.22s winner in race nine.
In a driving finish Winona Gold (Collision x Hayley’s Trinity) proved too good for Gaultier and Fresh Fantasy.
Winona Gold is prepared at Coonamble by ‘Boppa’ Pickering.
First starter Too Hotta Hold made an impressive debut for local trainer Greg Ford scoring by 6.25 lengths in a nippy 18.46s while the Parkes combination of Gary Abernethy and Mick O’Shannessy were to the fore in race two when Lady Gazmick led all the way in the time of 30.75s.
Lady Gazmick showed enough early speed to clear the pack at the first bend to race away with a winning break.
The minor place getters were Nana’s Pie (Charmaine Roberts) and Buckle Bunny (Kevin Bell).
Another first starter, namely Paul Braddon- trained Charming Chelsea made short work of her opening assignment scoring all the way in 23.48s fron Miss Taro and Nature Inc.
Charming Chelsea was also Blue Paws eligible so an extra $600 was added to her prize money.
Tim Coen was back in the winner’s stall when youngster Nooda scored a hollow nine-length win in a smart 23.16s.
Nooda is from Tim’s top producing bitch Incoming Dreams.
The minor placegetters were Miss Addis and Gazmick Applejax.
Spring Hill trainer Les Whitton was all smiles after Five Shots easily acounted for her opposition when she exploded from the pink box, running 9.10s early and overall 23.28s
Five Shots is owned by well known Dubboite Ronny Hill.
Bobby Hodges-trained Profanity registered win number two with a nippy all the way 23.16s win in the eighth race and on that performance the Country Willee x Proper Honey youngster should be one to follow in the weeks ahead.
