Moree Meeting A Resounding Success

Saturday's greyhound meeting in Moree has been a resounding success and described as absolutely fabulous by organisers.

The race meeting comes at a busy time for the club with two events planned for the Saturday and the Monday of the upcoming long weekend.

Saturday's meeting was well attended with organisers having about 30 more greyhounds entered than places available.

The entries for both race meetings over the long weekend have been similarly strong with strong contenders travelling from the surrounding region, the Coast and Queensland.

The greyhounds that have been entered from and Queensland are extremely quick, as their recent times around the track show.

The club was relieved to return to racing after the Greyhound and Harness Racing Authority held an and then penalised the club.

The one-month suspension from racing and $990 fine were both devastating for the club, which also had to pay for the costs of attending the inquiry in Sydney.

The $990 fine is more than the club usually pays its' and officials to stage a large greyhound meeting.

The Moree Greyhound Club is looking forward to the upcoming race meetings (October 4 and 6) and are hoping that they are just as successful as Saturday's.
