New South Baz Impressive At Wauchope
Last Saturday Nabiac owned and trained, New South Baz, 2/1, took out the Hastings Hotel Stake over 384 metres, at the Wauchope Greyhound meeting.
New South Baz scored by 2 ¾ lengths on So Slow, 2/1 on, who scored a further half head on third placed Chief Hastings. The time was an impressive 21.48.
The afternoons racing got underway with the Timbertown Service Station Stake at 1pm. The 384 metre race was taken out by Solve The Title, 3/1 on, 1 ½ lengths ahead of Blazing Enforcer, 6/4, with a further 1 ¾ lengths to third-placed Texas Tiger, 5/1. The time was 22.25.
Race two was the Thompson’s Building Centre Stake over 457 metres. Battle Brother, 5/2 scored by a massive 7 ¼ lengths ahead of Sandy Two Timer, 3/1, with a further 1 ¾ lengths to third placed Indy Crew, 2/1. The time was 26.22.
Race Three was the Radio 2MC FM Appreciation Stake, over 384 metres. The race was taken out by Royal Splinter, 6/4, scoring 2 ½ lengths ahead of second-placed Hayden’s Highway, evens, with a further 1 ¾ lengths to third-placed 4/1. The time was 22.21.
The John McKinnon Memorial Heat 1, over 384 metres, was taken out by Your Round, 7/2, who scored 1 ½ lengths ahead of second placed Poppy Baz, 2/5, with a further 3 ½ lengths to third-placed Hallari, 2/1. The time was 22.02.
Race 5 was The ‘Blue Paws’ Stake over 457m. First placed, Flo Able Man, 5/4, took out the race with a margin of two lengths to second placed Faberge Belle, 2/1 on. A margin of a further one length occurred before third-placed Tonguester, 4/1. The time was 26.03.
Heat 2 of the John McKinnon Memorial Stake, also over 384m, was taken out by Battlers Best, 5/2, 1 ½ lengths ahead of Bago Fury, evens, with a further ¾ length to third-placed, You Bet, 4/1. The time was 22.02.
Heat 3 of the John McKinnon Memorial Stake was taken out by Detective Goren, 5/4, two lengths ahead of In The Running, 4/1, with a further 2 ½ lengths til third-placed Kaz Card, 2/1. The time was 22.03.
Heat 4 of the John McKinnon Memorial Stake was taken out by Truthful Ted, 5/4, who scored by 2 lengths on Break Apart, 2/5, with a further 5 ½ lengths to third-placed Pindima Prince, 5/1. The time was 21.82.
The final race for the afternoon was the PFD Food Services Stake, over 384 metres. Princess Nimble, 2/1, scored by ¾ length on second-placed Des Rogan, with a further ¾ lengths to third-placed Another Brother, 5/4. The time was 22.08.
