Shakey Jakey Obliterates Wentworth Park Track Record On Debut
Shakey Jakey sent shockwaves through the greyhound racing world tonight with a scintillating track record run at Wentworth Park in a heat of the Sportingbet Magic Maiden that had to be seen to be believed.
The David Pringle trained son of Collision and Kiacatoo Pearl (History Lesson – Naughty Thoughts) stopped the clock at 29.07, and yes that is not a typo, en route to obliterating Punch One Out's former record of 29.27.
What is even more astonishing, is the fact that it was Shakey Jakey's first race start after two very fast performance trials, including a record at Bathurst and a smart 29.80 at Wentworth Park, despite hitting the running rail.
Beginning well from box two, the 35kg black chaser ran a moderate 5.47 for the first section before morphing into a canine missile and transforming the race into a virtual solo trial.
His second section of 13.74 saw him open a massive margin which he only bettered with a mind-blowing run-home of 11.32.
In a recent interview with ARG, trainer David Pringle had predicted big things for the litter and made special mention of their strength, but he had probably never envisaged anything close to this.
“They are Collision's and in their performance trials they will open a few eyes. They are a bit slow early and Wentworth Park may not suit them, but we are not to worried about them, they are going to get a bit of ground, probably go six or seven-hundred,” He said.
For those lucky enough to have seen the run, they may have just witnessed the genesis of something very special.

These Pringles have had a great rep as breeders for as long as I can remember, could this one be their best? I bet there’s some big bucks being offered.
