Stilton Blue Wins 2014 Nowra Summer Puppy Classic
Stilton Blue (4) has taken out the $25,000 Group Three Nowra Summer Puppy Classic at the Shoalhaven greyhound circuit on Saturday evening.
He went to the boxes as the clear favourite and didn't disappoint, leading all the way to win by six lengths in 29.88. The blue dog by Where's Pedro – She's A Player (Go Wild Teddy – Nimuay) recorded fast sections en route to his victory.
Leica Destiny (3) and Solar Pak (1) also began well but Solar Pak lost all momentum after she galloped across the heals of Leica Destiny and raced wide, checking Hollie Anne (5).
Someone Tifi (6), Highbury (7) and Quick To Go (8) came together at the start with Someone Tifi and Highbury worst affected. Highbury was also hampered on the first turn by the incident involving Solar Pak and Hollie Anne as he was forced wide.
After a moderate start, Gold Buccaneer was able to finish over the top of Leica Destiny to seal second. Leica Destiny was third, one length behind Gold Buccaneer.
Stilton Blue now has eight wins for trainer Philip Goodsell and owner Jason Bolwell. The Group Three win brings his prize-money to $35,000 and a bright future looks to be on the cards.
