Surin’ Sal On Track For Casino Cup Heats Ths Friday

Former sprint holder Surin' Sal showed she is right on track for this week's Charcaol Inn heats with a decisive win in the cup prelude last .

Beginning beautifully from box six, she was outside the leader Outreach at the first bend, and with sheer pace raced away from him in the back section.

Going right on with it, the trained sprinter chased keenly to the line to win by 5 1/2 lengths in a handy 27.44.

Another cup aspirant, Proper Lucy, showed she's up to the standard with a strong win the Westlawn Finance stake. It was a mad charge down the back with three or four bustling for the lead. Proper Lucy managed to come out in front, and held a megre margin to the wire to score by a head. The time of 28.01 can be somewhat ignored because of the interference, and the form of all of the first four placegetters will include them as chances in the cup heats.

Kennstrelle charged out from box four to take up the running in the stake, and that early advantage proved vital in an all of the way win. Whilst Snitcher and Flying Fatty tried hard to bridge the gap, Kennstrelle just kept going and won by 1 3/4 lengths in 27.63. trains him, and it was his seventh victory here.

The Jim Caden Memorial maiden went to the Macksville trained Rapid Robes who stuck to the fence all of the way. Bruce Caden, who had Rosswill Smiles engaged,
was trying to win the race named in memory of his father. Rosswill Smiles did grab the front as they went down the back, but when he drifted of the fence ever so slightly, Rapid Robes pounced. Nice guy Neil Ward trains the winner, and the long journey home would have been very pleasurable.

Recent winner, Bralyn Midge took out the Blue Paws final in hollow fashion. Anticipating the start from box two, he was soon in front and he galloped away to record a 6 1/2 length win in the best of the day – 27.20. Litter brother Bralyn Miami got up for second after being a clear last at the winning post the first time. It was a strong run. Later in the day Bralyn Alvin held on to give the litter another win. He ran 27.89.

In yet another feature race, the Tweed to Casino Final went to the trained Holly Uno. It was her first run at the track and box one certainly helped her cause as she hugged the rails to salute by 2 1/4 lengths in 23.34.

The best bet of the day looked to be Genista Jess in the distance race. She bounded away from her rivals with a lap to go and won by 3 3/4 lengths in 35.78 for local trainer . It was her second distance win.

In a other races, Rapid Vale finally broke through at his twenty third run for Jake and Glen Northfield; Kingsbrae Dust raced away to win by 5 1/2 lengths in 23.33 for ; White Raft lived up to his potential by scoring by 5 1/4 lengths in the 484 metre maiden, and Casa Express ran 23.30 in a 1 3/4 length win.
