Three Month Disqualification For Manhandling Bulli Greyhounds Manager

Greyhound Racing NSW Stewards on Friday 14 December 2012 inquired into reports received from Bulli Greyhound Racing Club (BGRC) officials alleging an incident said to have occurred in the offices of the club on 15 October 2012.

Written and verbal evidence was taken from trainer Mr Brian Hall, Ms Sonya Hall, BGRC Assistant Ms Lynne Curtis, BGRC Manager Mr Paul Barnes, BGRC Raceday Assistant Ms Rebecca Osborne, Starter Mr Steve Howard and Mr Paul Matters.

The evidence disclosed that at or around 5.30pm on the afternoon of 15 October, Mr Hall entered the offices of the BGRC and directed offensive language towards those present and then took hold of Mr Barnes by the shoulders, before being led out of the office by Ms Hall.

Mr Hall subsequently pleaded guilty to a charge under GAR 86 (f) (iv) in respect of engaging in the use of offensive language towards officials of a club. He was fined $200.

He further pleaded guilty to a charge of misconduct under GAR 86 (o) in respect of the handling of Mr Barnes by the shoulders. He was disqualified for a period of three months to expire at midnight on 13 March 2013.
