Nominations from NSW greyhounds to compete in qualifying heats for the Platinum Paws Series in New Zealand close with the Greyhound and Harness Racing Regulatory Authority (GHRRA) on Tuesday at 10am.
The heats will be conducted at Wentworth Park this coming Saturday 13 September with the winner of each of the heats seeded directly into the semi finals of the Platinum Paws which will be held on Friday 10 October.
The Platinum Paws is the richest greyhound race in New Zealand's history with more than $250,000 on offer in prizemoney over the race of 520 metres. The race is celebrating New Zealand greyhound's Centenary celebrations and will be held at Christchurch on Friday 17 October.
Appearance money is also on offer for those two greyhounds which win the heats with the amount paid dependant on the greyhounds actually starting in the Semi-Finals in Christchurch. The amount paid will effectively cover the transport of the greyhound and handler/trainer from Australia.
