In the Fixit Auto maiden Fancy Speed was victorious and Nothing Wild was runner-up with Cobar Charlie in third place.

Palomino was the best of the novices, beating King Size Lorian and Miss Technical.

The first heats of the Greyhound Racing Club also took place on Saturday.

In heat one Gardener mowed down its opposition to reach first place.

The Bucca-trained dog beat Smart Emma, who came second and Coyote Babe was third.

The second heat Convincing Talk proved its money was where its mouth was, beating Seb's Memory and Ten Dancer.

Enforcing was dominant in the third heat beating Oh My Papa and Black and Gold in the race.

Langer won the final heat of the day.

The Bucca trained dog, another owned by Neville Cumner beat Solid Shiraz and Octane Bell in the final heat.

The winning dogs will now progress to the next round of the Cup, the tournament for fourth-fifth grade dogs.
