Finalists Decided For Group Two Futurity At Albion Park

Three trainers will each rug up a pair of runners in next week's Two Futurity at Albion Park.

Jeff Britton, William Elson and Peter Young all two runners for the $40,000 to-the-winner final after five heats were run and won on Thursday night.

Here is how the five heats panned out;

Heat One

Anakie trainer Jeff Britton's trip to the Sunshine State was validated early on when Oakvale Destiny (7) sprouted wings to take out the first heat with a barnstorming finish.

After walking out of the boxes a distant last, the striking blue daughter of Vapour Whirl and Foot Luce ( – Scarlett), negotiated a path to the rails to sit in fourth as the field headed to the back led by the speedy Masai Princess (8).

As the field swung for home Dulcie Dee (1) had overhauled Masai Princess. Visualize It (6) was running on well in third with Oakvale Destiny still in fourth, with plenty to do.

But the 28kg bitch showed a plethora of strength and determination to continue her sustained run and score by a length on the line from Visualize It and Dulcie Dee, stopping the clock at 30.03, the fastest time of the five heats.

Heat Two

Cyndie's Special (7) put on a great exhibition of tenacity to take out the second heat in 30.31 for local trainer William Elson.

After beginning fifth, the daughter of and Regal Silver ( – Wongawillisue) found herself forced very wide on the first turn as she avoided interference.

In a great turn of foot, the 28kg black bitch whipped around the field and quickly began to reel in early leader Bridgeson (2) as they went into the back straight.

Her resolute pursuit saw her hit the front soon after and open up a margin as the field began the swing for the post.

From that point it was a matter of how far as Cyndie's Special burst away to take the heat by 3 1/4 lengths. Bridgeson hung on for second while Senor's Mistress ran on well for third.

Heat Three

Tarks Nemesis (6) was the second Victorian greyhound to take out a race with a superior show of strength when she flew home to land the third heat in 30.25.

Prepared by astute Anakie mentor , Tarks Nemesis was slowly away and squeezed back to last as the field passed the post the first time around.

After railing well, the daughter of and Skrat () sat third mid race and set out about hauling in tear-away leader Rickshaw Rosie (3).

Leaving the back, Tarks Nemesis put on the after burners and quickly abbreviated the leaders margin, racing past Zali Rose (1) and Rickshaw Rosie to land the event by 2 3/4 lengths in a powerhouse display.

Rickshaw Rosie held second while Fast Net (8) flew late to grab third right on the line.

Heat Four

William Elson made it a winning double (and a litter double) for the evening when Abby's Fantasy (4) led throughout to take out the fourth heat in a smart 30.12.

After spearing out from box four, the daughter of Premier Fantasy and Regal Silver (Surf Lorian – Wongawillisue) quickly opened up a space with Super Vision (7) the only runner staying in touch.

Those two sped away from the field with Abby's Fantasy maintaining a three length lead and Super Vision unable to make up any the leeway.

That was how they stayed all the way to the posts with Abby's Fantasy scoring by three lengths. Chica Desticada (5) ran on well to great third.

Heat Five

You Can Talk (1) was the first favourite to salute when she put on a polished display to land the final heat in 30.13 for Peter Ruetschi.

Beginning flawlessly from the rails alley, the cleverly named daughter of Outa Credit and Where Are You used the fence well to hold out all challengers at the first turn.

By the time the field headed into the back straight, the 27kg red brindle chaser had already put four lengths on the field and her victory.

With very little else making any impression on her lead, You Can Talk held all at bay to win by a solid 4 1/2 lengths. Oakvale Flyer (5) finished in second place with Hope's Fantasy (3) third.

The box draw for next week's $40,000 to-the-winner Group Two final is as follows;
