Racing Queensland Directors Resign

At the conclusion of 's board meeting, Limited (RQL) announced the resignation of two directors.

Board members Wayne Milner and Bradley Ryan advised the board of their intention to resign from the board effective July 31, 2012.

Mr Ryan and Mr Milner had been members of the RQL Board from the time RQL was created on July 1, 2010 through the merging of the control bodies of the three codes of racing in Queensland. Both Mr Ryan and Mr Milner had also been members of the previous thoroughbred control body, Queensland Racing Limited.

As a result of the changes to the strategies and directions of RQL that occurred with the recent change of State Government, RQL experienced a number of board and senior management resignations. Mr Ryan and Mr Milner determined that they could best serve the racing industry in Queensland by continuing on the RQL Board until the incoming directors had sufficient time to be fully conversant with the complex business that is Racing Queensland Limited.

RQL chairman said the board of RQL appreciates Mr Ryan and Mr Milner remaining on the board and providing this transition period.

“The board now feels comfortable that they have had adequate handover. We thank Mr Milner and Mr Ryan for their selfless interest in the wellbeing of racing in Queensland,” Mr Dixon said.

RQL also announced that it did not intend making any further additions to the Interim Board at this time, but would now operate with the current Interim Board pending the introduction of leading to the formation of code specific statutory control bodies, as well as an All Codes Board.
