The Directors of Greyhounds Queensland (GQL) at a meeting yesterday unanimously voted to appoint Ms. Kerry Watson to the position of Chair.
Ms. Watson has been Acting Chair since July of this year following the resignation of Mr. Phil Bennett.
Ms. Watson said she was honoured to have been appointed Chair of GQL and looked forward to working with her fellow Directors in securing the long term future of the Industry. “I am committed to seeing the establishment of the standalone greyhound facility at Logan” she said.
“This is our one and only opportunity to secure a standalone facility with opportunities to generate additional income from non racing activities” said Ms. Watson.
Ms. Watson’s appointment follows a long tenure of industry involvement as a Board Member, trainer, owner, breeder and former president of the Q.G.B.O.T.A.
