Brilliant youngster Birthday Boy claimed the $7,000 first prize in the MTD Geelong on Friday night.

However, the Steve Elsum-trained speedster wasn't the only greyhound with reason to celebrate.

In running second to Birthday Boy, catapulted past to be judged the most consistent greyhound throughout the six-week Tri-Star series, thus earning a free service to champion sire for his connections.

Friday night's feature at Geelong was the third and final leg of the 2008 MTD Tri-Star series, with previous legs being held at Bendigo (won by Dancing Lights) and (Invisiting Me).

Young Ravello, who is owned by Tony Devola and trained by , was rewarded with the stud service, valued at $3,300, despite not winning any of the three legs of the MTD Tri-Star series.
