Dyna Lachlan Scores A Historic Australian Cup Win

The -trained etched his name alongside the greats of the sport with a dazzling victory in the MTD Australian Cup over 525 metres in front of a packed crowd at The Meadows last Saturday night.

The son of Go Wild Teddy and Benden Flex sat behind early trailblazer Galba Jack (5.06 and 17.83) before proving too strong, scoring by three and a half lengths in a Best of Night 29.84, making it two wins in as many months (he won the in January). Early leader Galba Jack (box two) ran second, while consistent performer (box four) ran third.

Queensland raider (box five) fell after an early scrimmage on the first turn.

A $3.10 favourite for the Cup before boxrise, Dyna Lachlan pushed his prizemoney to $434,555 after Saturday night's success, and with age on his side (he doesn't turn three till July), could creep closer to 's Australian prizemoney record of $530,995.

He has raced 40 times for 24 wins and nine placings.

It was a huge night for the Dailly training team, finishing with a total of four winners on the night, also scoring with Sydnie Allen, and Allen Zander.

Once again, the Australian Cup Carnival at The Meadows has proved to be a huge success, with over $650,000 in prizemoney given away over a three-week period.
