Racing on what seemed to be an increasingly fast Shepparton greyhound track last night, the Paul Anderton trained Katie’s Tears demolished a 5th grade 390m event to set new figures for the track record.
Previously held at 21.79 by Vee Man Vane, Katie’s Tears took command of the race quickly and easily from box 4 and cruised to the line 9.25 lengths ahead of her nearest rival in 21.78, despite only running 8.29 to the first section, well outside the first section record of 8.08.
Katie’s Tears is by Over Flo ~ Inca Dancer (Proper Tears ~ Mischa Dancer) and last night’s record breaking win was her 20th win from 44 starts and total career earnings of just $21,450.
The white and fawn bitch who will turn 3 in February 2010, had just last start run 22.18 winning another 5th grade at Shepparton, and is now unbeaten at the Shepparton track in her last four runs there.
