The Nation’s Best Bitches Ready For Group 1 Classic

Australia’s best female greyhounds will step out at Sandown Park this Thursday night for the heats of the $72,500 Group 1 Crown Classic.

, who has won two Group 1 races in her last two starts – including the Group 1 Sky Racing at the Meadows on Saturday night – headlines seven stellar heats whose runners have combined to win 552 races and over $2.6 million in prizemoney.

Multiple Group race winner returns to Sandown Park to defend her title. A controversial seconnd reserve for the , Queen Lauryn took out the Group 2 All Stars Sprint at Cannington on Saturday and boasts three wins and three seconds in six starts at the Lightwood Road circuit.

Group 1 winner will make her Sandown Park debut and will be joined by fellow interstate greyhounds including multiple Group race winner , , , Flying Shambi, Best Of Times, Brislane and .

Flying the flag for the locals will be Group 1 Hawkins Media winner , who will take home a $10,000 bonus if she can complete the Sandown Classic double last achieved by in 2004.

The Crown Classic has evolved to become one of the true highlights of the Australian Greyhound Racing calendar, boasting Australian Greyhound Racing members and , as well as winner Betty’s Angel on its honour roll.

The boxdraw for the Group 2 Crown Classic will be conducted trackside following the last race on Thursday 29 November and will be available soon after. The $50,000 to-the-winner final will be run on Thursday 5 November.
