One of the hottest fields for the Group One Galaxy is set to go around on Saturday night at Greyhounds WA Cannington at 8.27pm Perth time and it's hard to not to sense the excitement and nerves for trainers and owners involved in the $80,000 race. WA has three chasers in the final; Linda Britton's Reverberate (box 4), Paul Stuart's Ash Flash (box 8) and Lionel Rees' Hellmuth (box 6). The best chance is with Stuart's young stayer Ash Flash, who is set to jump paying $4.50. Victorian Born Ali for Robert Britton holds favouritism overall, currently paying $2.80 for the Galaxy win.
Born Ali is not the only talented stayer that Victoria has to offer; Lenny Jones' Sweet It Is won her heat in the third fastest time of 41.99. Infinite Wish has somewhat of an advantage after having an extra start at Cannington the week before heats. It helped her find the in the heat, taking the corners better then the following week, but she was unable to reel in a high flying Born Ali. Dyna Willow, Gold Affair Two, Born Ali and Sweet It Is will all benefit from their run last week so expect them to come out running quicker times.
Comments: Kristie Collyer. (Handler): “Box One is definitely an advantage, especially with her early speed. Dyna Willow would be the dog to beat, if Born Ali is in front with Dyna Willow behind, there is a good chance she will run over the top of Born Ali.”
Comments: Trainer unavailable for comment. ARG comments – The inside box will improve her chances after jumping from box eight last week. She has the third fastest qualifying time coming into the race after running down fellow Victorian Gold Affair Two.
Comments: Tammy Collins (Handler) – “Dyna Willow prefers box three to any of the other boxes. It will come down to the first corner and what jumps and makes it to the front. Born Ali is the dog to beat from box one.”
Comments: Linda Britton. (Trainer): – ” Reverberate is a place chance at best. There is a lot of pace around her, so her only chance is if she leads the race. Over all she is an honest dog.”
Comments: Trainer unavailable for comment- (ARG comment): She is up one run on her other travelling companions which gives her a bit of an edge. She has a lot of early speed to contend with in the race so she will need to be a length in front of them on the first corner to have a good chance at winning the race.
Comments: Trainer unavailable to comment (ARG comment) – With just the one win over the 715 metre trip this race looks very much out of the WA chaser's reach. Hellmuth is also a slow beginner but has strength behind him.
Comments: Kristie Collyer (Handler)- “Gold Affair Two is going to have to come out of the boxes well to be in the race. Hopefully she gets carted across nicely to put her in a good position.”
Comments: Paul Stuart (Trainer) – “Ash Flash is probably a level below the Victorian dogs in the race but in saying that you can't knock her form here; she ran good times at Cannington a couple of weeks ago which puts her up there with them. It is the first time she has raced against a really good field and the way she races she should appreciate having the good dogs in the race. She should get every opportunity to perform but there are some good dogs in the race.”
Comments: ARG opinion is – Dyna Werribee failed to jump last week which proved costly because Born Ali and Infinite Wish got enough of a lead to prevent Dyna Werribee from running the pair down. Her time although isn't bad,it wouldn't be enough to get her across the line if she gets a start in the final.
Comments: ARG opinion is – Sassy Bullet has the ability to fly out of the boxes and break away from a pack but this Galaxy field has too much early pace and strength to let Sassy Bullet get away with too much if she gets a run.

Pedro's Finest is set to pull on his racing rug for the 150th time in his career, taking away from the excitement of the big races for a split second. Although unable to make it through to the Group One Galaxy after running fifth in the heat last week, he will jump from box one for trainer John Iwanyk and the Pride Of Five Syndicate in the 715m FFA.
